Shakespeare Fly Rod Vintage Shakespeare 9' bamboo fly rod. Three piece bamboo with one finished original tip and two additional unfinished tip sections. M etal reel seat. Butt section has old style Shakespeare label and also inked. A-1308-7-9' Made pre-WWII, about circa 1940. Line weight likely 7. In unmarked vintage cloth bag and in modern Plano hard tube shown. Includes two 1950's Wright& McGill'new old stock' blank tip sections. To permit trimming. New tips are about 4" longer than the finished sections, with the diameter of the tip butt end the same as the original middle section upper end diameter. Mid-section male ferrule diameter is 18/64. Original sections have been crudely rewound with yellow thread. Also. Original sections are same length and all 5 sections are straight. No dents or cracks in cane. Great ... moreproject rod.
