In great condition. No splitting of the 7 rods, I don't think this was ever used. One ferrule will need reglued, I don't want to put this togehter in case they stick, very, very tight fit. This came in a lot of items from an estate sale of a prospector in BC. Canada. This looks to be older than 1994 as the letter from Simmons Scientific states correspondence at this date indicating this unit was purchased before then. If not for the letter included I would not have known what this kit was. According to this website This appears to be an older PMR II kit. With some missing parts and some extra parts but I have no clue exactly what they are. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Up for bids is a vintage Ted Williams. Sears Roebuck and Co. Rifle Cleaning Kit no. 20201. The 14 x 6 x 1 1/2 inch tin storage box does have some surface rusting. The oil jar almost full of oil. The solvent jar has very little in it. The kit appears to be designed for both.22 caliber and 30 caliber and up. There is a wood handle that attaches to the metal rods. VINTAGE ORIGINAL EX+ POST WWII SPLIT BAMBOO FLY/CAST FISHING ROD KIT This auction is for a vintage four piece Post WW II split bamboo fly and casting rod combination kit with original wooden storage box. There is no decal but I believe it is a Grampus Model. The kit includes 11 assorted hand tied flies. Silk gut leader material, snelled hooks and a unique bobber. The rod is in excellent condition and I do not believe it has ever been used. The rod can be assembled into a three piece 8’ fly rod or a two piece 5.6’ casting rod. All sections measure 33" I would estimate the fly line weight to be a three-four. The 6 1/4” cork handle and screw down lock reel seat are in great condition. There are two snake eye guides on the fly rod mid section and three on the fly rod tip section. The casting tip section has two guides. There is a stripper ... moreguide and hook keeper on the bottom section. The rod fits together perfectly when assembled and has the distinct“pop” sound when pulled apart. All of the sections are straight. The wooden storage box is also in great condition. The original honey colored cane and varnish finish are gorgeous. You would be hard pressed to find another POST WW II rod kit is this great a condition. The casting action is awesome and this classic wand would be right at home on creeks. Streams and lakes.
