american flyer O scale custom painted rat rod parts repair restore bell ringer!!
Up for bids is an old American flyer O scale pre war steam engine for parts repairs or restore only. The paint has been modified and it kind of reminds me of an old 50's style gasser or hot rod/rat rod type build. Anyways all the wheels seem to be starting to swell and crack except for the pilot and rear trucks. The drive wheels geared and non geared are locked up tight and will not budge. The motor seems to want to run when power was applied it did hum without sparks so that may be a good sign. However this thing really needs to be taken apart and redone to get it back on the rails. There is a loose wire hanging out of the back and there was a bell ringer unit jingling up in the shell when I got it and I managed to get it snuck out of there to see what it was. Vintage Garcia. 6' 6" TWO PIECE, SPINNING ROD in good, used condition. The cork handles are both good. The four eyelets and tip are very nice as are all the wraps, except there is no wrap for the tip and the female end of the ferrill is just starting to come undone. Also, the tip was painted with orange paint years ago. That's why I am selling it for parts or repair. The aluminum metal reel seat and lock are also is nice. Model number is worn off completely. Hi here is an old Cox Thimble Drome tethered racer. Barn find. Rough shape, wheels turn but not freely. Small crack in windshield. Some brain surgeon drilled a hole in seat, probably to put a driver. The two wires on the back are electrical taped together, don't know if that is the way it should be or buggered. I know NOTHING about these, view the pictures as they are 99% of this description. The solid cast iron casting is in very good condition with the horse broken off. Possibly from wind? The cast iron has great texture and orange color from its years on top of a house or barn.
