This rod tip 44" section is from a 7 ft. Garcia Conolon 2 pc fiberglass spinning rod. It is very similar to the model 2510-A except the male ferrule is slightly larger at.396" diam. The rod is in very good condition. No scrapes, no worm burns, the line guides are free from line grooves and corrosion, bright metal. Guides are tight. The male ferrule is clean, no corrosion. The distance from the 1st guide to ferrule is 8 3/16" Rod color is dark burgundy with yellow& black wraps. This auction is for a vintage split bamboo fly fishing rod. Marked on the decal: MONTAGUE SUNBEAM- and on the handle is the original MONTAGUE tape label, although faded. This 3 piece rod is 9' long and has an extra tip and comes with the original sock. It is in excellent, near mint condition with no damages or repairs and appears just very lightly used. The 3 piece rod weighs 5.3 oz. and in the sock and tube the total weight is 1 lb. 2 oz. The sock is also in fine condition with no rips or holes, just wrinkled and faded, with a tiny bit of the Montague label still present. This rod is in what I would call very good condition. There's some scuffs and wear on the cork handle mostly. You can judge by the photos. And it's a real bonus to get 2 extra tip sections. I believe the screw-cap tube is original, and there was probably a felt bag it came with which is not included. You're getting the 5 sections of rod and the tube, AS IS, with no returns except for substantial errors in listing. Shipping is only set for the 50 American states. This is a signed Abbey& Imbrie Bamboo fly rod. The bamboo sections all have the intermediate wraps. The stripping guide and the two tip top guides are red agates. The remaining guides are the twisted wire snake guides. The first guide on the mid section is missing. One tip does have a slight set to the left. Very minor. All of the sections are full length. The bamboo on the tip tube is splie down it's length. The tip tube has a brass top on it. The whol;e rod fits nicely into a heavy canvas bag. I see a few spots on the rod where the vanish has come off in a chip. The reelseat is stamped into the metal with the Abbey& Imbrie name New York. The photo's show the condition well. Vintage Phillipson Pacemaker Bamboo Fly Rod, 9', 3-pc, 1-tip
Offered is an all-original Phillipson Pacemaker bamboo fly rod. Nine-foot, 3-piece, 1-tip; it weighs 5 5/8 ounces. The rod comes with two tips, but one tip has a split just below the tip top wrap(seen in the picture) so the rod is sold as a one-tip rod. Lime green wraps with gold tipping. It comes with the original fiberboard rod tube, sans screw top, rod sack(in good shape) and the screw on portion of the tube is missing. The label is 90+ percent, but has been wrapped with clear tape. The rod also comes with a new black aluminum rod tube. The Pacemaker. Which sold for $25 in 1952, was an"every man's fly rod. And was an ideal Western trout rod. The tip is fine enough to protect 6X tippets while the length lends itself to excellent line-mending capabilities and has enough backbone to buck a Montana wind while handling nymphs and streamers. ... moreThe varnished bamboo on this rod has a rich patina. The ferrules fit smoothly and separate with a satisfying"pop. All sections are full length and fairly straight. The downlocking reel seat over black plastic spacer is in excellent shape. It has" Phillipson Pacemaker" written on one plane of the shaft next to the winding check. While the rod tube is marked for a HCH-7-weight line. 65 Good Used Fishing Rod Line Guides And Tip-Tops-Mostly Light/Med Spinning
All are used and all appear to be in very good. Usable condition. Some are still connected to bit of rods. Loose ones have light debris from the rod they were removed from. Shouldn’t be a big deal to clean them up for re-use. I counted 50 guides and about 17 tip-tops. Most all of the guides have ceramic inserts. There is even one snake guide in the lot. Comes with a"rod holder" that is ~37 3/4" long, covered with worn green cloth& has"channels" or grooves that the rod sections fit in, it's ends are rusted or tarnished metal. Three piece vintage bamboo fly rod that has been fully restored by John Lyman in the late 90's. All 4 sections are the same length and comes with a tip tube with brass cap. Nice flamed bamboo and 9 ft. in length. This is a real beauty with no damage. Tight glue lines, and agate stripper guide. Additional pictures are available if asked for. Now lets be serious. The cost to restore a rod like this is not cheap. I will stand behind this rod if the winner is not happy. Please check my feed back. The Norwich Fly Rod Co. operated in Huntington. Ma. before John retired in 2005. The rod does not look like a Montague trade rod, but if it is, it's very high end. My best guess is Edwards. But you'll have to be the final judge.

Vintage Split Bamboo Fishing Rod 9 foot 3 piece with extra tip
This is very old. Perhaps 100 years surely collectable. Considering its age it is in good condition. The windings are tight though one guide is missing. All four pieces are full length, never broken that I can see, with no splits or pieces coming unglued. The cork looks like it had been varnished at one time and where it has worn off the cork seems to be in good shape. I have not attempted to clean the rod as I know this may reduce its value if not done correctly. It was found in the attic of a relative some years ago and I have kept it protected in a tube for 40 years. 9' 3-PIECE FARLOW'S SPLIT CANE ROD FOR ARMY& NAVY STORES LTD 3-Piece rod in immaculate condition(with spare tip) This high quality 9ft‘built cane’ fly rod. That was made by Farlow's for The Army& Navy Stores Ltd of London, and weighs just under 6½oz- light for a split cane rod. It is in totally pristine condition with all of the 133 gold/yellow whippings being in immaculate condition with not the slightest hint of a broken or loose thread. Furthermore, I feel that the pristine varnish may well be original as there is no sign of any unsightly drips, or the like, anywhere on all four sections. The first and tip end rings have ceramic inserts while the remaining 11 are all small, round nickel/chromed rings and are all beautifully whipped with a dark green thread. Like the entire rod. Both end sections are immaculate, ... morebut what always amazes me is that, like on a Hardy rod, every single whipping is exactly opposite the whipping on its twin when both sections are laid alongside each other. Please see my photos. The chrome sleeve. On the bottom of the butt section, has stamped on it: Army& Navy Stores Ltd, London SW1. There are two small pieces of chrome worn off this sleeve- I just knew there had to be something! As for dating the rod, I have used the fact that the name of Army& Navy Stores has'Ltd' and not'Co-operative Stores Ltd' imprinted on the bottom sleeve to mean that it cannot be earlier than 1920 and is probably somewhere between 1920 and 1935. I have titled it as from Farlow's as my research tells me, that this excellent rod manufacturer, certainly in the top three, was commissioned by the Army& Navy Stores to manufacture their rods. Some were even stamped with a Ministry of Defence'arrow' and issued, apparently during the late 19th century, to serving officers. Not, however, in this case. Vintage Montague bamboo fly rod. As the cork grips and paper label seem pretty much untouched I am assuming that rod may never have been used. You may think differently. Label reads"Montague 1MTTF Mt. Tom Fly. 8 1/2 Ft. Med. 3 joints and extra tip. Metal rod case and cloth bag included. Note that the cap for the rod case is missing. Also note that the metal reel seat and other metal parts. Including the ferrules, have some green blemishes that need to be scrubbed off. Sighting down the sections they all seem straight, except for one of the tips that has a very slight bend to one side. VINTAGE S.I.R. JAPAN SPINNING ROD - 9'6" with extra tip section - priced 2 sell
Estate sale find. You are bidding on this S.I.R. fishing tackle Co. Japan 2 piece ocean spinning rod that has an extra identical tip. I'm not familiar with this model but the darn thing has plenty of action. Total length is 9'6" and the largest guides are 1 1/2" in diameter. There are 2 labels but only one is readable. No issues with any of thew wraps as all are tight and no fraying. The eyelets could stand a good cleaning and there is virtually no boat rash at all. The handle section is 49" and each tip section is 65" in total length. When I put the tips to the handle I notice plenty of" Whip Action" and as I said. Very lively. 9'0" Bamboo Fly Rod - 1930s or 1940s - Extra Tip - Collectible!!!
I really don't know the history of this rod and I'm really only guessing that it was made in the 30s or 40s. Its been in my fly tying room for years. My Dad picked it up somewhere along the line. But I never heard a story to go with it. Its not a Powell or anything even close. It is a very cool old bamboo fly rod. I cast it with 6 weight line and it was actually better than I expected. It does come with an extra tip that was never wrapped with the two center islets. As you can see from the picture the sock label that had the makers name has worn away to the point you can't tell what it said. Its a great rod for a cabin wall, fly shop decoration, man cave or to just play around with when you want something really different than graphite. There are a few small chips out of the cork, but it sounds like you are going to be re-wrapping the rod so I'm guessing that isn't a concern. We think my Dad is the original owner, but either way it is obvious that the rod was always well cared for. I hope that helps!
