Tip Top Comic 173 1st app Peanuts in Comics VERY VERY RARE super HTF
Up for auction is Tip Top comics 173 1st appearance of the Peanuts in comic books. This actually ties with United Comics 21, they both came out in March/April. This is for Tip Top only. This book is super super rare. And anyone looking for it knows that it does not come up on Ebay or anywhere for sale often at all. Most people don't even know this is there first appearance, Overstreet has United Comics 22 as possible, below is a link showing the order of appearances. This is a historical book that is highly undervalued in the price guide. I have seen only 3 copies in the last couple years appear on E bay, I finally found an upgrade on this with Metropolis about 6 months back, but I(no joke) paid 30x guide for it and it was in no better than a 5.5. I finally got to upgrade this very very tough book, so this is a chance for another collector ... moreto complete there Peanuts collection or just to have this historical first appearance. About the condition. This book would grade 3.0 maybe 3.5 in my opinion if there was not a tiny little ad cut out of book, see picture 3, it does effect a Captain Kids comic, but the Peanuts comic is intact, so I cannot give an actual grade for this one. There is wear on book. A one inch spine split on bottom of book, as you can see in scans a couple stamps. A couple tiny tears bottom front cover, and a small chip out of bottom back cover, also, on back cover, in bottom left, there is a crease that is actually torn, it is hanging on by a thread, but still attached, so be careful to winner. you may want to tape, but I will leave that up to buyer to make that decision. Staples and centerfold are intact and NO rust. You will be very happy with this book. Shipping will be 8.00 due to cost of new post office prices. Plus I send EVERYTHING in boxes, I don't believe in sending in envelopes. Your book will arrive in condition stated. I have not sold on e-bay in about a year.
