It has scratches and some boat rash. But nothing too bad. The chrome reel stand has signs of very minor brassing, but the trim rings are excellent. The rest of the chrome is in good + shape with some signs of wear. It runs great, with a strong clicker, ok freespool, good drags, and shifts in and out of gear positvely.You just do not see these reels come up for auction that often. Vintage fishing reel Ambassadeur 5600C Abu Garcia (Sweden) NO RESERVE
This is what I believe to be a 1976 model reel assuming the manufacturer# on the bottom(pictured) with the first two digits 76 represents year of mfg. It was a gift to me new and I was young when receiving it and that seems about right for the year(late 70s IIRC) I only used it a few times as I became more of a panfish and catfish type fisherman than a bass angler. It has never had a screw turned on it and reels very smoothly like new.everything works like it should. Still even has the pictured decal stating"high speed" on the right side of the reel. It stayed in my garage basically until 1989 when I I took it off the rod and put it in a box and that is where it has spent the last 14 years. Probably only fished with 4-5 times in the early 80s/late 70s.

As the markings on the tailplate of the Ambassadeur 5000 reel were transitioning from"Record Ambassadeur" to"ABU Ambassadeur" For a short period of time a small number of reels were marked only"Ambassadeur" See the last picture) What is most interesting about this particular reel is its serial number. If you have read Simon Shimomura's book entitled The Ambassadeur and I. At the time of his writing it, the smallest serial number known on a reel without a Record or ABU marking was 69331.Page 134 of his book) The serial number of this reel is smaller. 69245. See picture two) I'm aware that least one other reel with a smaller number has been discovered. This reel has rash on both rims and surface scratches on the endplates and handle. Up for auction is this very nice ABU Garcia Ambassadeur 6000C. The Original" baitcasting reel. It's in a glossy black finish and looks like it has never been used. I have listed it as used, because it was found at a local auction and I know nothing of its history. I'm unsure of the serial number coding system, but I think it may have been made in 2001, based on the number 010710/6 found on the bottom of the foot. It is marked saying it has a stainless steel bearing drive, a 5.3:1 gear ratio and a line capacity of 245 yards of 14 lb. mono. It is in super clean condition with hardly a mark on it. Mechanically, it appears to work smoothly and work as designed. In my opinion, it's like it just came out of the box. No box included, however. Abu Garcia "revo" Premier Model Baitcasting Reel
One of the best quality reels made these days and a super high quality reel for a great value. I purcahsed this. Paired it up with a G Loomis GLX rod(which I have for sale on an ebay listing) and I had a phenomonal setup! This reel was used for one season and I haven't used it since as I just am not able to find time to fish much these days. GREAT quality reel in very good condition.
