Color of item is actually brown. My photos are all over the place. Garment has a few light stains, did not try to wash. I forgot to photograph inside of pockets, they are reenforced at flaps. This is a very well made vest that I obtained roughly 30 odd years ago from a man that was 70+ years old. He had it for as long as he could recollect. No rips or tears, lots of pockets, fully adjustable suspenders and front straps with snaps. One size fits most. Very light weight vest. Great item for the nostalgic fisherman. (2) Wicker Leather Trimmed Fishing creel Baskets Vintage 1940's 50's HONG KONG
Up for your consideration are a couple of vintage original leather trimmed fishing basket creels from Hong Kong. These were made primarily in the 1940's and 1950's. I just aquired them 3 days ago. The baskets appear all original. The exception is the shoulder strap on the basket on the left. It may not be original but its very old too. These belonged to an avid fisherman. See my other auctions for some of his bait cans and lures. Etc. The basket on the left is trimmed in reddish colored leather and has been subject to some sort of splashing. To me. It gives it more appeal. The strap used to buckle the top down is missing. I have the strap and will ship it along with the creel should the winning bidder wish to try and mend it somehow. The creel measures approx. 14 inches across by 9 inches high. The basket on the right is trimmed in ... morebrown leather and is in incredible shape. Zoom in. As I believe the baskets true condition is represented well in the photos. It is missing the buckle and some of the other leather parts are rough but it is a very sturdy basket overall and has no holes other than the one it is made to have on the top. This basket measures approx 16 inches across and 8 inches high. Both baskets have flaws but the wicker itself is in incredible shape. It has no holes or cruched corners. They both sit flat and have virtually no damage to their bottoms other than scuffs. The seller was a heavy smoker and within a few feet I can smell the smoke eminating. Because they were only in his house a few days. I suspect the smell will be temporary, but i wanted to make sure and disclose this. Up for auction is a very nice split willow and leather fishing creel from early 1900's. The only real issue I see with this piece is the leather closure strap is broke. Although it is present and will be included for possible repair. Otherwise the basket is tight with little to no damage. The leather on the rest of the creel looks to be in very good condition as well. Slight discoloration inside on the bottom which just gives it credibility. Good luck.

Welcome! Up for auction is this great woven vintage fishing creel! It is in nice condition. With a few flaws as follows. There are some broken strands along the sides at the bottom. There are a few cracks in the bark that makes up the strap that goes around the basket. They are in the front at the very bottom and there is one chipped spot towards the left side of the photo about midway up. These flaws are visible in the photos if you zoom in on them. Other than those listed, the main part of the basket is in very nice condition, finished with a shiny gloss. The strap makes a twenty inch loop. This wicker creel measures: top 10"x 7" b ottom 14"x 6" It is 8" H at the back and 6 1/2" H at the middle of the front. It has a leather strip used as a handle and a wicker handle. This creel is in good shape and could still be used. It is fully wicker. The hinges on the top are the same leathers as the holder. I bought this at an estate sale.

Rare Antique Handmade Birchbark Wooden Fishing Creel
For sale we have an exceptional example of a Very Early Handmade Birch Fishing Creel. This piece is made entirely out of birch bark branches cut to size and is primitively nailed together. You can still see some of the actual white birch bark on the lid and several of the side pieces. Notice the round twig that is the outer edge of the hole on the top.awesome! The inside has a piece of what appears to be bamboo around the inner lid edge. It has obviously had several repairs but this is a very old piece of fishing gear possibly from the mid to late 19th century. I have never seen anything like it! It measures 10.5" tall. 15" long and 11" wide. This is an extremely rare piece.

Vintage 1800's Large Bait Box or Metal Fishing Creel or Tackle Box for Lures
Vintage. Very unique, rustic metal bait box or creel. I have been told this is probably from the late 1800's and is possibly English. There is no name or manufacturers mark that I have been able to find. I do know this a very well made, old metal box probably used for live bait or it could have been used as a trout creel or could have carried fishing lures. The hinged lid on the top works very well as does the large comfortable handle. There are no holes in the unit, but it does have some marks and a few dents in the metal. Approx size is 16" long x 8" wide x 13" to the top of the handle(the box itself is about 8" tall) Weight of the box is approx 4.7 Lbs. Very unique and I have never seen another like this.
