Spectacular Vintage Heddon Dowagiac Head On Basser Lure GE in Box
OK so you know you did not get what you wanted for Christmas. All of that supid stuff you should return and get your money and buy this. Offered here is one of the greatest lures James Heddon of Dowagiac Michigan ever made. Intruduced in 1922 and only lasting for 2 years with the Head On basser lip. It was changed in 1924 to Heddon-Basser. This Bass Pike or Musky lure is 100% original. The Spindiver 8500 series lues are one of the most prized of all collector lures. You can see from the pictures the condition on the bait is stunning. It has never been fished polished or fooled with. It comes in the box that is unmarked. Very nice bait for any collector of antique fishing plug.

This lure is well used and missing paint in a lot of places but still in decent condition other wise. It is a 5 hook lure and all the hooks and hardware are decent as well, All is correct with it with Heddon Dowagiac stamped on the propellers. TWO very RARE Heddon insert papers. Here is a Heddon Dowagiac box with a 3 treble hook set up. Glass eyed lure. Not sure, I think the lure is wood. The lure is about 4 1/2" long overall. I think the box was only used by Heddon from 1914 to 1920. In the box are 2 originla paper inserts. One is the instruction sheet and the other is an advertisement for the Baby Crab Wiggler. This was just purchased from a local estate sale. Early Vintage Heddon # 15 DOWAGIAC Bamboo Cast Rod
For sale is a very early vintage(patented 1908) Heddon# 15 DOWAGIAC bamboo cast rod with a bag. Bag(with four pouches for a 4 section fly rod) is not original to the rod. Has some has some stains running horizontal, primarily in the middle section, likely from the varnish when rod was refinished. No rips or tears in the cloth, no labels or markings. Rod itself has been revarnished and guide bindings possibly replaced, there is sign of wear on the cork handle(see photo#10) The top end section of the rod has a slight curve to it(see photo#12) that could likely be straightened out by a skilled craftsman. Two guides are not on the rod(see photos#7& 8) they apparently fell off but they are in hand and will be included with the rod& bag. This is a great piece of Heddon history with a loose tip that will need to be re-secured prior to any use. ROD MARKINGS: The rod is marked DOWAGIAC with the BASS DECAL. The reel seat areas read: Heddon's Made in U.S.A. The age is known to be from the 1925-1926 era. The Rod bag has the Blue& White sticker decal correctly marked 10 5 Ft. This is a Heddon Dowagiac Crab Wriggler in the Strawberry coloration. It is a very old lure. Owned by my great Uncle. It is in pretty good shape with some fish bite scuffs on it, but probably very common in a lure this old. It does not have the one set of hooks but it does have the hardware on the lure to put a new hook on. Looks like you just turn a tiny screw add the hook and tighten it back up.
