2 Different Vintage Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 5000 C Reel Lot 5000C Baitcaster
Hello you are bidding on a lot of two different Abu Ambassaduer baitcasting reels. Both the reel work fine but both are missing end cap for the middle of the handle and one may not have the correct screw(the small handled reel) The small handle reel. The handle wobbles and is not on tight so it may not be the correct screw. Both reels are used and have wear on them, both are made in Sweden and I they are also accompanied with a small box with some parts, I am not sure if they go to the reels but I am including it. I know the wrench fits the nut on one of the reels. Please ask any questions you may have, shipping is 10.00. Thanks

These reels seem to be rather bullet proof when many brands of closed face spinning reels really aren't that good. I have another one somewhere that I will try to dig up and list also. ABU Ambassadeur 8500 Reel
The Ambassadeur 8500 was produced for about three years beginning in 1972-73. It is a heavy saltwater type reel which quickly morphed into the 8600(clicker added) and then into the Ambassadeur 12. One of the IGFA reels. Since it was produced for such a short time. The 8500 is fairly rare, especially in black. The 8500 has no brake drum and is used for trolling rather than casting. This reel is mechanically in very good condition. There is minor loss of paint on the sideplates and handle. The handle is counterbalanced and has a torpedo grip. The production number on the foot is 740600(June. 1974) There is some oxidation on the foot and cross pieces. Take a close look at the pictures for an accurate description of the condition. This lot contains 3 Abu Garcia baitcasting rods which were returns or floor models from Bass Pro Shops. They are all missing a guide or 2. Please look at the pictures and ask questions if necessary. I will do my best to describe the condition of the rods. Rod#1: Model: VRC70-6 7'0" Medium Heavy 1/4-1 oz. 12-20 lb. This rod is missing the 6th guide from the top. There is some flaking off of the finish in many spots on about the bottom 2/3 of the rod. The thing that twists down to lock the reel in place also spins too far and does not stop on the threads like it should. This does not affect its ability to hold a reel just fine. Rod#2: Model: VRC66-5 6'6" Medium 1/4-5/8 oz. 8-17 lb. This rod looks almost brand new. It is missing the 6th guide from the tip. There are a few scratches on the blank from handling. Rod#3: Model: ... moreVRC76-6 7'6" Medium Heavy 3/8-1 1/4 oz. 12-25 lb. This rod appears to be brand new. It is just missing 4th guide from the bottom. There is a minor scratch or 2 from handling. Cosmetically, the reel is in very nice condition with a nice black finish and vivid gold lettering on the foil decals. The only flaws include some minor surface scratches on the side covers and minor wear on the edges of the side covers. There are also some minor abrasions on the posts. Because it is premium quality 100% synthetic oil it easily outperforms all other oils on the market. Vintage fishing reel Ambassadeur 5600C Abu Garcia (Sweden) NO RESERVE
This is what I believe to be a 1976 model reel assuming the manufacturer# on the bottom(pictured) with the first two digits 76 represents year of mfg. It was a gift to me new and I was young when receiving it and that seems about right for the year(late 70s IIRC) I only used it a few times as I became more of a panfish and catfish type fisherman than a bass angler. It has never had a screw turned on it and reels very smoothly like new.everything works like it should. Still even has the pictured decal stating"high speed" on the right side of the reel. It stayed in my garage basically until 1989 when I I took it off the rod and put it in a box and that is where it has spent the last 14 years. Probably only fished with 4-5 times in the early 80s/late 70s.

All intact, varnish, whippings and rings, reel seat and cork all very good The cork is excellent. The hook loop is present and perfectly intact. There is a rod bag but it isnt abu original.
