this is a vintage open face spinning reel from my father in law's estate. A Vagavond model 1. AIREX division of the Lionel Corporation made in USA. It seems to be fully functional however I would recommend a lube and cleaning before use. Does have some paint missing from use on bottom of reel and spinner. But overall, it is a survivor working vintage reel.

Up for auction is an old Airex spinning reel kit. The lettering on the reel says"Division of Lionel Corporation" Included in this kit is 1 spinning reel. In apparently working condition, the metal box, 1 wooden spool with extra line, 1 extra aluminum spool for the reel, instruction manual, 4 bobbers, 1 can of brake dressing, 1 cloth bag for the reel, 5 spinning lures and a few other parts I'm not sure of. The box measures 11 3/4" x 3 3/4" high and 5" wide. The copyright date on the manual is 1955. The condition is as seen in the photos.

The drag on the reel tends to stay tight if you adjust the tension up, I think it's the old rubber washer on the drag that has gotten hard with age but it seems to works just fine other than that. With a large faced skinny spool and a micro bailer. It might technically be a half-bailer still but looks more like a quarter compared to this spool face. Cosmetically this one is in very good condition, with just some paint wear on the lower body and edges of spool housing as shown in photos. Operationally this one works fine but needs a lot of force to start turning the handle. The bailer trips perfectly every time, and once you get it going it becomes easier to keep it spinning. This spinning reel the Larchmont Airex Model 3 was made by a division of Lionel Corporation. It is in remarkably good shape for being over 60-years old or older. Only thing it needs is fresh line and the spring(its there) to be adjusted on bail. Nothing is broken or rusty. This would be a find for any tackle collector or fancier of anything Lionel. Two Lionel postwar box cars, 6044 Airex and the 6014 PRR Baby Ruth
I am offering two Lionel postwar box cars. First is the X6014 unpainted red Baby Ruth box car with white lettering and bar end trucks produced in 1956. The lettering is strong but has rubbed off on two small spots. The trucks and couplers have minimal surface rust. One coupler does not open when activated. Also included is the Airex 6044 spinning tackle car with bar end trucks. The lettering has faded and the trucks are not original to this car. The couplers operate smoothly when activated and have minimal surface rust. Both box cars are in very good condition without any breaks.Chips or cracks.

Vintage Airex Bache Brown Mastereel Model 2A Spinning Reel Early Model w/ Half Bailer. Auction is for a vintage Airex Bache Brown Mastereel. Model No. 2A. This one is one of the rarer versions with the 1/2 Bailer, and comes to you in very good condition. Cosmetically there are some scrapes around the edges of the body, and a slight discoloration/staining on the black paint as shown in photos. Operationally it spins smoothly, and bailer trips like clockwork. It takes a bit of force to set the bailer though, maybe needs an adjustment or new spring somewhere. Once set though, it trips fine after a 1/5 spin every time. If you aren't happy upon receipt then please send it back for a full refund. Happy bidding! Shipping: 8.75 to all 50 States.
