If you are Collector of mint vintage fishing rods this is a must have. Here is a vintage Airex Aristocrat companion#269 glass spinning rod up for auction with no reserve. We all know that Airex was made by the famous train company Lionel. This rod has never been used and was made in the mid 1950's. It is literally like brand new. There is only one flaw on the entire rod there is a small piece of the company's logo that has chip off. It happened during storage this rod has been packed away since the late 1950's. The chip is from the end section of the rod eye pressing up against the logo for 60 years. I believe it could be easily repaired by a rod maker. I will let that decision up to the new ... moreowner. The rest of the rod is like new. The rod is made of air glass and has no cracks or stress marks. The wrappings on this rod are all perfect and still have all their lacquer finish. All the goldplated eyes are intact and shows no damage. The rod sections fit together perfectly and the eyes line up nicely. This rod measure 6 1/2 foot long. The handle section of the rod looks brand new there has never been a reel seated on this handle. This vintage Airex spinning rod comes with its original sleeve that is marked Airex. The rod comes with its original tube that is in pretty nice shape and still has the original company sticker on it. This fine vintage spinning rod would be a nice addition to any collection. My son Braden and I went to an auction this last Friday and he bought some older reels and wants to learn how to sell items on eBay. You are bidding on a vintage Bache Brown Mastereel version 2 half bail spinning reel with spare spool made by the Airex Corporation. A division of the Lionel Train Corporation. This reel is in good mechanical and average cosmetic condition. The reel spins smoothly, the drag works well and the bail snaps closed cleanly. The line-out clicker also works perfectly. There are numerous scratches as seen in the pictures. Please note: the spool with the all black face rubs a little when the drag is tightened all the way down.
