Abu Garcia 5000 fishing reel This reel is having a couple small issues: When you push the release to cast it you need to turn the handle once or twice to get it to click back on and the reel handle is loose. There is some boat rash on the top and the bottom of the reel as you can see the pictures. The reel doesn't look that bad but the decals have been worn off fighting fish.

This is a older bait casting reel. Abu Ambassadeur.5000 Made in Sweden. Right Handed. This reel appears to be in fair togood condition but has a lot of wear. I pulled some of the line off and it spins just fine. When the button is pushed down it will stop letting line out, and the line guide goes back and worth as it should. Included with this reel is a vintage zipper abu Garcia leather case, that is in fair condition.The zipper still zips and there are no rips, but has a lot of wear. This is a very nice used Ambassadeur 5000C Vantage Plus This is the ABU Garcia model that was made in Sweden. This reel is getting harder to find in this good of condition. There are some small scratches from normal light usage. It has what looks like a small smudge on the right cover. Nothing major but I thought I would point it out. As you can see in the photos it is in very clean condition. Everything works as it should. The drag tightens as it should and the free spool releases smoothly. The spool drag adjusts well. Very Good condition, appears to have had very good care and only normal usage. Good smooth retrieve, solid drag, positive free spool operation, cosmetically good, some scratches and paint loss on the top of the casing, see the accompanying photos. The serial number is 850100. The reel weighs about 11 ounces. We will box and pack this item with multiple sheets of large bubble-wrap and surrounded by styrofoam peanuts. The shipping weight will be in the 1-2 pound range. Here we have a 2 reel lot of ABU Garcia Ambassadeur baitcasting reels. The first reel is a green 5000D reel. The handle is bent but turns freely. The spool doesn't turn when you turn the handle. You can turn spool by hand. The paint is is terrible condition. This reel need tons of tlc to make work again. Numbers on bottom of reel are 750300. DEFINATELY FOR PARTS OR REPAIR ONLY. This auction is for a vintage ABU Ambassadeur 5000 baitcasting reel. I believe the reel is circa late 1950's. The serial number is 739391 if that means anything to you. It doesn't to me. I have bought. Sold and used a lot of these and based on the handle and reel sides it looks late'50s to me. Just a bit of boat rash but a very nice one overall. You are bidding on a classic example of a vintage ABU Ambassadeur reel#5000 that bears a serial number of 485632. The reel is in excellent mechanical condition. Cranks very smoothly, with a good strong star drag system. Cosmetically, I would rate the reel a 7 3/4, as the top of the plates show some scuff marks and there is some brassing. The reel comes in its original leather case with an ABU reel catalog, as well as oiler, parts tube and wrench. This is a no reserve auction. Up for auction is a nice vintage ABU Garcia Ambassedeur reel. It has four side plate screws. It works smoothly. The only thing I see wrong is some boat rash. Foot number is 277759. Ambassadeur 5000 C Deluxe Reel, With Teak Box, Rare! Early!
Here is a Very Nice Ambassadeur Deluxe 5000 C Reel. It has two small rubs on the top outside of each sideplate. If it wern't for these small rubs. Reel would be in Perfect Overall condition, So as you look at the photos, if you see any white spots, they are camera flash or glare. There are no more blemishes on this reel, anywhere. It comes with the Paperwork, Black Bag with Gold Drawstring, Parts tube with 4 gold plated screws, and a gold plated nut, with hole in it. and other assorted parts, It has a plastic oil bottle, still in the plastic wrap, Also has the Silver Plated name plate to go on top of teak box. still wraped in paper, also has the wrench.This is the complete package. Teak Box still has the felt inside where the reel sits, there is some minor rust around the clasp on the box.Look at All the Photos, In the Front View photo, ... moreyou can see the rubs on the top rims, this gives you a very good ideal of what little damage this reel has. This auction is for ABU Ambassadeur 5000 Level Wind Baitcasting reel MADE IN SWEDEN. This reel is in excellent condition. This reel apparently predates any involvment of Garcia. As their name does not appear anywhere on the reel. This reel is in great shape and works great. And is very smooth. The only real sign of use or wear is some chrome loss on one of the side caps. I have been repairing and rebuilding/restoring fishing reels for over 35 years and this is a smooth reel and an excellent buy. I try very hard to price the shipping costs at what my costs are keeping in mind that Paypal charges me 4% and Ebay charges 10% and nobody likes to lose money so I am as fair as I can be.
