AMBASSADEUR 5000 ABU GARCIA BAITCASTING REEL This auction is for the pictured Ambassadeur 5000 collectible fishing reel. This reel is one of the older Abu Garcia Sweden made bait casters. This is a nice reel which looks good overall and works too. It has the rim mounted spool release button and a metal star drag. It is a used piece but still has nice side plates and rims with some boat rash and minimal scratches to the sideplates. The handle isn't the original and has the double knobs on it which are translucent red in color. The reel label has the words Abu Ambassadeur 5000 etched into the side plate of the reel. The foot bears the numbers 653307. The reel is mechanically sound. The level wind travels evenly across the worm. But has some sound coming from it. The drag tightens up and loosens up properly too. The spool release button ... morefunctions properly and the reel works nicely. It is a decent looking. Good working reel for one of its age. Right handed, three screw reel with original leather case and the original parts box, oil and wrench, which is very rare to find all together. Chrome on this reel is excellent, reel is smooth. Numbers on the bottom reel seat are 433380. Writing on the side plate reads- Abu Garcia, No 5000, Ab Urfabriken-Svangsta, Sweden. Reel has some boat rash but still in excellent condition. Leather case on the outside is great condition and the inside as seen in pictures needs repair. All in all these reels are getting harder to find in this condition. This is a very nice ABU Garcia Ambassadeur 5000 red colored bait casting reel with box. Oil, wrench, screws, manual, schematic, and warranty. The reel is stamped ABU Garcia, Ambassadeur, 5000, The Original, Instant Anti-Reverse, Gear Ratio 5.3:1, Made in Sweden, Line Cap. 12LB/205Yds. 14LB/180Yds. 17 LB/130Yds. and heel is stamped 090010/6. Insp. by 04. Measures approx. 2 1/2" diameter and 2 1/2" across front face. This reel is in very good to excellent condition and looks hardly if ever used and reel is in very good to excellent working condition. The box is in fair to good condition and solid but shows wear and the 56 page manual. Warranty and schematic are is good condition and oil, wrench and two screws are in plastic sack. Ambassadeur Record 5000 reel. From my research I think it to be late 50's. It is in very nice shape. Not perfect, but very nice. It has the original brown leather case with the 2 accessory containers inside. This is an early model and there is no serial number on the reel foot. Very reasonable reserve for what it is. Vintage AMBASSADEUR Sweden 5000 Fishing Reel & Leather Case, Wrench, Spare Parts
For your consideration is this vintage ABU Ambassadeur Sweden No. 5000 Reel with the original brown leather brass latch case with original wrench. Tube of oil with contents, and bottle of spare parts. Not certain of the exact age. Serial number on the foot: 421244 CONDITION: Reel is in good condition and working order with just a few light scratches. Leather case has some wear. The inside lining is separating on the inside top and some edges. Someone has affixed red& white raised plastic labels indicating the number 5000 on the top and 2017 5000 8-12 3/8 below. Please refer to photos for further detail. I am currently and will soon be listing another Amassadeur& other vintage reels& lures as well as other antique& vintage estate treasures.
