This will fit for for Ambassdeur 1500C ... more~ 6600C models for 1970's and most of 80's as well. Yes. This one is designed to perfectly fit to short twin handles for 1500C, 2500C, and 5000. Current retainer plate will not fit to your classic model reel handles as it is made a bit longer. All classic Ambassadeur requires a single slit screw however ABU no longer produces a single slit screws. Please make sure that the handle on your reel is an ABU original. Generic third party handle may not fit as their location of the screw hole may differ from what ABU originals are. These pieces were manufactured by Simon Shimomura at Fishy Business for the purpose of repairing. Restring your classic Ambassadeur reels. I have created a separate listing for a 1 piece combo. In 2002. To commemmorate the 50th anniversary of the Record Ambassadeur reel, ABU released 1800 sets of two reels in a wooden presentation box. This set is number 410. The reels are 1) a reproduction of the Record Ambassadeur 5000 and 2) a Morrum SX3600C IVCB. The Record Ambassadeur 5000 represents the beginning of the world's most revolutionary and successful reel and the Morrum represents the latest in technological advances in fishing reels. I bought two of these sets from a dealer friend in Sweden when they first came out. One has been displayed in my collection. While this set has been stored. It was opened for the first time to take these pictures. It is truly a mint set. If you've never fished with a Morrum reel. Then you've missed something. This one has a 6.3:1 gear ratio and the same disc brake as the 7000 models. IVCB ... morestands for infinitely Variable Centrifugal Brake, which means it can be set for all conditions. There's quite a bit of paperwork that comes with this set. The ususal operating manuals and parts diagram. But there's also an interesting statement about both reels. This is an exceptional Abu Ambassadeur 5000 4 Screw Baitcasting Reel. This reel should be considered in"collectable condition" Several weeks after purchasing. I brought this reel to the Abu Garcia booth at the 2012 Muskie Expo in St. Paul, Minnesota. This reel was inspected. Cleaned and lubed professionally by Chuck Brod of The Sportsman Repair Shop. Mosinee, WI. While disassembling this reel, he stated that it probably had never been used as it had absolutely no signs of any mechanical wear whatsoever. He also stated the handle may not be the original, but should not effect the reel's value. That's how good this reel seems to be. Since then, it has been stored and not used. I believe this is the standard model 5000. I know for a while they made the 5000c's in this color as well but believe this is the 5000. It has boat rash as you can see. The worm gear covering and the lower bar across the spool has some rusting on it. But everything seems to be working properly on it. It is like the other Ambassadeur I have for sale in that it could stand a good cleaning but everyone knows these old reels are as bullet proof as they come. I fished them for years and rarely did anything other than change the pawl out. I will combine shipping on these 2 reels if you win them both. Thanks for looking. Posted with

Seat and posts has some finish wear mostly brass spotting but good shape. The levelwind guide. Some lite wear and good shape. Spool has wear but good shape. And the rings ha ve some lite wear and good shape. C rank and star have finish wear and reel has emblem and spool caps. Does have wear as seen in the photos but a solid piece which holds and works well. The Super-Sized and Zoom-Able pictures are of the reel which show it quite well. This Ambassadeur is an older used reel but still all works. Good working levelwind. Cranks good with a solid anti-reverse, ... morethe levelwing works well with good gears. Free spool works quite well an d in sync with levelwind. Has dual manual backlash control and two air-brakes. Also a good working variable drag. And a good working clutch.
