They really are a rare breed to find in any condition. They were so dirty I couldn't tell what kind of reels were on them. As you can see. It turned out to be the zebco 11. This one and the other one I have listed I bought them with the same reel on them. I've always enjoyed restoring antiques. Everything from cars to furniture. This was the first time I ever done fishing rods and reels. I have a new respect for those who take the time to restore them. If you collect these but have never cleaned one of them up, you need too. If you buy these at what I have them listed for, you should be arrested. It's against the law to pay someone to work for less than minimum wage. The time it takes to painstakenly restore these rods is amazing. Everything is so time consuming. When I restore antiques, I don't restore them to look brand new. If you like them that way, thats fine. I don't like to take all the character out of them. I like the fact that they have been used and when you look at the 2 I have listed, you will see what I mean. Believe me, if I wanted these to look brand new, I have the bead and sand blasters to do it and it would have been so much easier and faster. Unfortunately, when I started cleaning this rod, it did take it all the way back to bare metal. It is clean, it's just brown colored from the tempered steel. Unlike the other one I have listed, it left this one looking discolored in places from the steel being tempered. Most of them were painted. I also left the copper winds around the eyes bare. Why would I cover them up. I didn't take the reels off in the pics, but trust me, it's polished under them and the co. logo is plain and clear. I also left the dents and marks on the but of the rod. I could have just made a new one or made that one perfec

The bamboo is in excellent condition with no issues. All hardware is original. The cork handle is in mint condition, as can be seen in the pictures. Comes with two tip sections, a polished chrome rod tube& rod sock(neither are original to the rod) This rod casts like a dream(as all good Grangers do) is made for a 7 or 8 weight fly line. Only two minor issues: 1) the reel seat is slightly dented where the reel foot presses against it. But this in no way affects the functionality of the reel seat, and is not visible when the reel is attached; and 2) the butt-to-mid section ferrules are a little loose. The other ferrules fit snugly. All sections are full length(36.5 inches) straight, except for one of the tip sections that is 1/2 inch shorter(36 inches) If you are looking for a sweet-casting. Great looking classic Granger rod, this is it. Priority Mail shipping to the lower 48 states only.

What a nice estate sale find! A Vintage Montague Flash 3 Piece Bamboo 9' Fly Rod in Good Condition. Comes with 4 sections(2 tips) Each section is Approximately 36" It appears to me to be in good. Straight- no warping condition. The Cork Handle and Reel Seat are in excellent condition. The Montague decal has flaked off a bit. As can be seen in the pictures. One tip section is missing the end line guide and the other tip guide needs to be replaced. It is rust thru. A guide in the middle and some of the guides have some surface rust. I did not put it together. Because I have no experience with bamboo fly rods, but it looks as if the three sections would total about 8 1/2 feet when assembled. Looks pristine. Old vintage bamboo fly fishing rod, cork bobbers, rock weights; very cool.
I found this rod and it might even be more than one rod because there is almost 200 inches of bamboo here(around 16 feet total) Look at the pictures because I literally have no idea about bamboo poles. One of the small pieces has a breach in it that needs to be repaired if one is to actually fish with it. Or you could just leave it off(it's the smallest pole piece) The hand points to it in one of the pictures. Also included is the old hardware on it.old hook is still on it and the bobbers are made of cork(pictured) There are markings on the rod but no name, so I have no idea who made it.

Refinished Split Bamboo Fly Rod 2/1- 7 6" 4 wt.
This is a refinished two piece with single tip split bamboo fly rod seven and a half foot long in four weight. I don't know the original maker and we replaced all the parts with new premium components. The reelseat is a cap and ring in nickle silver on a beautiful maple wood insert with a full well cork grip in"A" grade. We used chromed line guides and tip top the red agate stripper is original the hookeeper is silver ring type. The cane is finished with three coats of spar varnish and is wrapped in brown silk. We lawn cast the rod and suggest four weight line it will handle five if needed.

Vintage South Bend Bamboo Fly Rod 9' Bluegill Trout Bass
I acquired this South Bend rod from a fly fishing estate last year and thought that somebody could get some use out of it. Here are the specs: It has obviously been refinished and was done pretty decently with all sections measuring 36 1/2" The ferrules are a litlle loose but should tighten up to be fishable with a little parafin wax. This rod has a bluegill. Trout or light bass feel and would be a great way to fish bamboo at an economical cost. Shipping is $12.50 to the lower 48.

This Rod is 5'6" long and very old. I have had it for over twenty years as a wall display. I have tried to find the make. But no luck. It is a two piece bamboo construction. The reel has no markings on it to determine the manufacturer, however it is newer than the rod. This would provide someone else with a wall piece as it has for me. This is. I think, Horrocks-Ibbotson cane. It was my intent to refinish this rod for one of my youngsters to use(but he is more interested in skiing with girls than flyfishing) and you'll need to refinish it before you can fish with it(if it were me, I might also re-set the ferrules, just for the comfort of knowing they're held on by modern glue) The cane is in good condition, and I straightened it; the ferrules are tight and"pop" nicely when separated; and the cork and reelseat are also in good condition. Both tips are a fraction of an inch shorter than than the mid and butt, but I believe they were made that way, because both taper to the same size. There is“Queen” inscription on the bottom section which would most likely indicate this is an H&I Tonkin Queen model. The bottom section measures 40” and the tip is 41” I would estimate it would load with a three weight fly line. The six inch cork handle is in very good condition. Near-mint Orvis bamboo spinning rod. Made and marked by famed rod maker Wes Jordan in 1958. This rod is 2 pieces, one tip, 7' long and all correct, straight and original length. The finish is exceptional. Rod is a Battenkill grade(so marked on the butt) and was made for Ev Kimball by Wes Jordan(also so marked on the butt) serial numbers 23XXX on both butt and tip. I fished this rod twice last summer and it's a dream to cast. If you want the classiness of split cane for spinning, you won't find a better rod than this(and it's more than 50 years old! Comes in original sock and what I believe is the original Orvis aluminum rod tube, although there's no label on the tube. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a mint Edwards Deluxe Salmon Rod from the 1930s(Gene Edwards Era) This is the No 200 12' rod cataloged in the mid to late 1930s. The rod comes in a tube indicating it was made by E.W. Edwards& Sons division of the Horton Manufacturing Co. Bristol, Conn. The tube does not indicate the model number or the length or weight, but it is a 3/2 spey rod with each section of equal 49" length and straight. These dimensions result in a 12' rod when assembled. The only markings on the rod are Edwards"DeLuxe" above the hook keep and"patent applied for" engraved on the reel seat. It has an agate stripping guide, 12 running guides and the tip top. Excellent & Beautiful Vintage 73" Bamboo/Wood Fishing Rod Pole Antique
73 inch old bamboo fishing pole. It is in great condition with maybe a couple scratches on the wood. It is missing the tip. I cannot find any markings on it such as a brand or maker. I don't think it's homemade though. It looks too much like some of the old brand name ones. This must be one heck of a rod because as I was buying it I had 3 or 4 people mad that I got to it first and the owner considered raising the price with all the people interested. It is beautiful. Could look great on the wall of a den or man cave. Please ask questions before buying.

CORTLAND 444 IMPREGNATED BAMBOO 2/2 FLY ROD 6 1/2' FOR 5-6 WT ORIGINAL BAG/CASE
Cortland 444 bamboo rod made by Sharpes of Aberdeen. England for Cortland using the Orvis impregnated method. It comes complete with original case and bag. It is a 6 1/2' 2/2 rod for 5-6 weight, known to be a really nice trout rod. The rod is used, but in nice shape. One tip appears to be all original as does the butt section. The second tip appears to have been repaired(see pictures of"ribbed" section between the second and third snake guide below the tip top) and may not be original to this rod. It is slightly shorter than the other tip and butt section. It appears to be a slightly lighter color as well. The female ferrule on the butt section and the male ferrule on the original tip section both have the number 27 stamped on them. I am unable to find that number on the questioned tip. Whatever the history of the questioned ... moretip, it appears to be in nice, fishable condition. Please see pictures for condition and feel free to ask questions. I am not a rod expert. VINTAGE ANTIQUE 1930s ERA" PEQUEA TRIBE" HEXAGON SPLIT BAMBOO FISHING ROD WITH DUEL COMPARTMENT FISHING ROD CLOTH BAG. Dimensions: The overall length of the fishing rod is 67. The cloth bag is 41" long and the upper portion of the rod is 34" long while the lower is 35" long. There is a crack in the joint between the upper and lower portions on the lower portion of the rod and this is shown in pics. It still fits together well. The fishing rod is made of real split bamboo that is tied and glued in a hexagonal shape. Has nice original varnish shellac glossy finish. It comes in two pieces. An upper and a lower, as well as with a dual compartment fishing rod bag. String bindings are still tight and the decal is beautiful. Up for auction a rather Nice 1938-1940 SOUTH BEND NO.77 8-1/2 FT. 3/2 SPLIT BAMBOO FLY ROD WITH CLOTH BAG. Not seen near as often as many other models from the South Bend Bait Company, the No.77 would sell from the early 1930's up until WWII. Because this example is equipped with the garnix stripping guide(stainless steel strippers would be used starting in 1941) and wrapped in black& yellow, we know it was built from 1938-1940. Rodshaft carries about a 95% complete"South Bend Bait Company- Quality Tackle" oval logo decal. Handprinted in white ink on one flat is"77- 8-1/2' while on an opposite flat reads"HCH or C" the old line weight designation equivalent to today's modern 7 wt. lines. Built with darkly stained Tonkin cane and comes equipped with extra tip section, red garnix stripping guide, 9) hardened ... moresteel snake guides& tip tops, nickel silver welted ferrules, hook keeper, NS winding check, chromed thread-locking reel seat with black spacer, solid cork Half-Wells grip and wound in black silk tipped in yellow. I've added a photo of the original listing from South Bend's 1939 catalog. Rod is in solid Fine to Very Fine condition, showing moderate wear that one would associate with normal use. Bamboo is perfect, with no splits, cracks or delamination whatsoever. All four sections are the correct equal length, with a few light sets. Original varnish shows thinning in several areas, but remains in decent shape. All wraps are solid and complete. All guides, stripping guide, tip tops, ferrules, hook keeper and winding check are very nice. Reel seat works perfectly, with nice hardware. Solid cork grip is in good condition, showing moderate wear. Put up in a period cloth bag, which remains in very fine condition, with no holes or tears. Vintage split cane casting rod. Six feet. Two tips. One side of the locking reel seet ring is scribed PAYNE and the other side says SOLD BY VON LENGERKE& ANTOINE CHICAGO. The rod has an old repair of the butt section just below the ferrule and one of the tips is missing the second to last line guide. The rod is in otherwise great shape. BOTTOM 31" TIP 30" SEEMS NORMAL ENOUGH. THE MIDDLE SECTION 21 1/5" IT MAY HAVE BEEN BROKEN AND REPAIRED. WHOEVER REPAIRED IT DID A GREAT JOB. THE GUIDES APPEAR TO BE THE RIGHT DISTANCE AND NEVER TOUCHED, ALMOST LOOKS LIKE IT SHOULD BE THIS WAY, BUT I DOUBT IT.
