Antique Porcelain Art Pottery Ceramic Fish Humidor Tobacco Jar Decoy Lure Trout This piece is not perfect- please see photos. It displays beautifully. It was sold to me as a"humidor" though I'm not certain as to what its original purpose was. Measures 5.5" tall and the base diameter is 4-1/8" Has stamped on bottom: the number 6587 and separately underneath the number 80( The painting and craftsmanship is fine. Rasmussen Greenback Cutthroat Trout Fish Decoy Ice Lure Spear Art Tribal Color
This is a very. Very large fish decoy of almost 13" long and made of white cedar. The greenback cutthroat trout is the focus on this fish. It has been wood burned and painted with designs in a manner that appears almost tribal like according to some people that have seen it. The fins are metal and covered with pearl white epoxy which is typical of fish that I have made over the last 8 or so years. The brook trout(just shy of 7" is not included in the auction. It is in the photos to show you the difference in size. You can find examples of other fish made by me. It is a marvelous piece and in two hours of research I can't get to the bottom of it. Don't know who made it or when. Do know that it is very old and quite lovely. Appears to be coated canvas material and the form and design are remarkable. Has a small brass circle stitched on the bottom. Measures about 15" long and 6" tall at the head. The eyes are glass. I do have another similar one that I am listing today though it is a different kind of duck. This one has some damage to the canvas at the head. Any information you're willing to share would be greatly appreciated. You should know: Ebay is not just a hobby for me.
