Up for auction is this beautiful. one of a kind" hand carved Dymondwood humming bird created by me Phillip Cates. This little hummer is 3 inches long and has a 3 inch wingspread. I thought I would offer one of my little hummers with a up swept tail this time around just so it would look a little different than the ones I usually make. You may notice that in one of our pictures the beak looks like there is paint missing. I can assure you this is only camera glare and that the beak is pitch black. Each of my hummer's are one of a kind creations.no two are exactly alike. Each of my little humming birds are nicely balanced and look great hanging in a window sill or from a car mirror. You are bidding on a decorative fish decoy created by me. Phillip Cates. I chose to carve this decoy from two different pieces of dymondwood. Throwing sticks at the wasp nest hanging under the roof of my grandma's old tar paper shack. Running for the safety of her house as fast as my PF Flyers would carry me. Stumbling.falling.the smell of black salve mixed with Days Work chewing tobacco on my arms and face. Oh what an exciting summer game! Needless to say. Antique Fish Spearing Decoy Wooden Metal Fins Hand Carved
Ok here it is I finally got the OK to sell this rare fishing antique Spearing decoy. It measures 6 1/2" long. It is hand carved wood and has 4 side metal fins and the tail fin is also metal. It has white attached eyes and an eye bolt in the top for string attachment. It really looks good with the silver sides and light yellow back. The fins have red outlining the silver metal. There is a little tag attached that says"George Corradin N. Muskegor MI" This is certainly a great find. I would date this piece around 1902 since I have a few others from the same owner that also was from that time period. I am selling this piece with no reserve!
