Towards the handle of the fly rod you will find"Z14579" written on it. There is a cocobolo wood insert at the reel seat. The fly rod is a copper color with brown wraps around the guides. Up for auction is the great South Bend model 59-9 bamboo fly rod with the base. Center and two top sections/tips. The rods are all in very good condition with no problems to the guides, tips or wraps. It appears that it has not been used or barely used and put away years ago. The cork section looks almost new, and appears to have no missing chunks. It still has the original foil label and looks good. Everything appears to be original with no repairs. Vintage Fly Fishing Wicker Basket Creel Fisherman's Basket
Welcome! Up for auction is this great woven vintage fishing creel! It is in nice condition. With a few flaws as follows. There are some broken strands along the sides at the bottom. There are a few cracks in the bark that makes up the strap that goes around the basket. They are in the front at the very bottom and there is one chipped spot towards the left side of the photo about midway up. These flaws are visible in the photos if you zoom in on them. Other than those listed, the main part of the basket is in very nice condition, finished with a shiny gloss. The strap makes a twenty inch loop. FLY ROD - 9 FOOT WITH ALUMINUM TRAVEL CASE
This auction is for a 9 foot fly rod and aluminum travel case. The rod was my father's and as far as I can remenber it was seldom used. The rod is approximately 65 years old and it appears to be in very good condition however the butt end does show some wear. Also one eyelet in the middle section needs to have the thread rewound. The rod is hexagnoal in shape and there are 3- 3 foot sections with an extra tip section. I have had the rod since my father died in 1961 but never used it as I wasn't interested in fly fishing. I have decided to sell it to someone who may be able to put this rod to good use. The travel case measures 39" in length and will be used th ship the rod.
