Vintage Garcia Conolon rod 2540-b 6 & 1/2' spinning rod light action vgc
Here is a vintage Garcia Conolon fishing rod with soft vinyl case. It is a model 2540-b light action rod. 6.5' long. It is in very good condition with very little paint wear on the beige that you see in the pics. The ends of the cork handle have a tortoise shell look to them and the rest of the rod is brown with amber accents. All eyes and wraps are in very good shape as is the reel boot. I think the wear is from being in the case not properly secured. The case is a gray/white color with a full zipper and soft lined interior. There are separate retainers for the rod pieces. The zipper is missing teeth. But it will still close to protect the rod. I have used the case 3 times to check and each time it will zip closed, with some coaxing. this very good condition 2 piece GARCIA. G" on the butt cap, comes apart at the handle via Garcia quality brushed aluminum knurled knob fastening hardware. also featured is matching knurled knob reel seat lock-down system. both are smooth working and great looking. handle assembly is about 11 inches and rod-shaft components are about 56 inches no model nbr is apparent. I believe it had a decal on the shaft. But no sign of it now. handle paint is well chipped and worn, with" GARCIA" embossed in the seat. cork is clean and firm. all tip, guides(7) and wraps are original and in very good shape. the 4th guide down from the tip has a 1/8" gap in the lower wrap that has been professionally corrected with near matching yellow nylon rod wrap thread(see pic) it covers the gap and is more transparent than the original wrap, so it ... moredoes show in bright d aylight. Good condition everything works well the reel and the line have never really been used except for practice. The rod is in good shape for it's age and is rated as a(6-7 wt) dry fly action. the line is 5 wt Fair Play WF-F which this rod seemed to handle better then the heavier line. If you are starting out this might be an inexpensive way to see if you like fishing the fly.

Abu Garcia Vendetta Next Generation VTS70-6 Medium Heavy Spinning Rod Split Grip
I have a very nice Abu Garcia Vendetta model VTS70-6 spinning rod up for auction today. This is a 7' medium heavy action rod made from what Abu Garcia calls 30 Ton Graphite. With a split EVA Foam grip design and 8 eyes, it also has a built in hook keeper to fasten your lures to above the front grip. Rod looks to have not been used much, I found a few rub marks on the foam handle where the reel mounts and that was it, the rest is in very nice condition, I can't tell if a reel was ever put in the reel seat. Excellent time to add this spinning rod to your arsenal. Lots of backbone for the 7' length. I do combine shipping on my auctions if it is physically possible.
