Fishing Up for consideration is a rare Mitchell 300A. Double red band spinning reel that was made on a short run between 1977 and 1978. This is an awesome reel that functioins flawlessly. Cosmetically, the reel is in excellent condition with only one small 1/4" rub on the bottom of the case just under the handle. There is also a very small spot on the bottom of the foot. Besides these rubs, this reel is in beautiful condition and presents very well with it's bright vivid graphics and rich black painted finish. For sale is a Garcia Mitchell 402 salt water that I have complety rebuilt. I have replaced the cam and pinion gears with new/used ones I installed a new bearing and bail assembly along with a new bail spring. All parts were striped and repainted. This reel works like a new one. All of the drag componets are in this reel a work as they should. The drag is very strong as is the bail lever. Please ask any questions you may have. The clicker does NOT work. I am sure the clicker could be repaired but I will leave it as found. If clicker worked the reel would almost be like new. Vintage Garcia Conlon live fiber 2 piece 7' spinning rod. Model D-452 medium action. It is in mint shape with very little wear. Ferrules, guides and wraps are like new, cork has a tiny bit of loss from being moved around in the tube over the years but is not dry rot. Reel seat is like new with a tiny bit of anodizing loss also from being in the tube. The Garcia logo is on the butt. One guide on the butt section, black anodized single lock down reel seat, and 4 guides on the tip. The cardboard tube it came in is worn and there is not top. A great rod to collect or fish. 2 Vintage Garcia Fishing Rods 1 Casting and 1 Spinning
1 Casting rod is a 2 pc. and measures 6'0" long it has 5 eyelets and 1 tip which are all intact although the wraps on the bottom are black and the wraps on tip are light red. The cork handle is in fair condition and the reel seat is in fair condition with the thumb screw reel foot lock working good. The only emblem of Garcia is on the reel seat and butt. 1 Spinning rod is a 2 pc. and measures 7'0" long and the only Garcia marking i can make out is in picture 7. This rod has 5 eyelets and 1 tip all wraps intact but the tip is bent and so is 1 eyelet. The cork handle is fair but is missing cork and the reel seat is in good condition. Gem!! '76 Midnight Blue Garcia Mitchell 408/Box. Ultra Light Spinning Reel
Serial# F117104( a 1976 production. This reel is slightly used as some rod marks on the reel foot show. But other than this the reel looks and operates like new. The Garcia Mitchell 408 ultra light spinning reel is a gem to own for fishing or collecting. I fish with these reels whenever I can. They operate as smooth as silk and are great fun to use. Many can't stand modern productions after using these! The planamatic gearing system lays the line on in a great fashion inside the spool for great casting and easy fishing. Generally 2-6 lb. test line is used with these reels. My favorite is 4 lb. test. I have seen optimistic anglers fish for Pacific Bonito with these reels and catch the fish after quite a battle. I use them primarily for trout in streams, or various panfish in lakes and ponds. Largemouth or smallmouth bass are also great ... morefun to catch with this model.
