For Sale is a Incredible rod by Garcia. From the Avocado Series Model#8294. This is 6'6" Medium Action. It has 4 premium chrome guides and a chrome tip. Polished lower wooden handle with white foam upper. Stainless Steel Reel seal. 20-40lb line and 1.5oz-3.5oz lures. Garcia was purchasing in 1980 and went by the name ABU Garcia at that time. This is still under the Garcia company name which from the late 40's to the late 70's was the largest fishing tackle company during that time. This Vintage/ Antique Rod was Made inbetween 1973-1974 and looks to be unused. Excellent condition from my untrained eye. No obvious dings or scratches. Looks to have no wear or tear. Chrome and Stainless are excellent shape. As you can see in the photo the white upper hand is still white after 40 YEARS. These are two German made Garcia Agate line guides with silver frames. The larger guide is 1 1/16 inch in diameter and the smaller guide is 3/8 inch. The larger guide has one fine undisplaced fracture and the smaller guide has two opposing fine undisplaced fractures. Both are new old stock items. They are not recovered from used rods. I classified them as"used" because they have fractures, but guides have not been used.

heres a top of the line garcia reel. 70s it is in primo condition compaired to the one that just sold on ebay. cut and paste this number and youll see 330843079480 it sold for a ton of money and was really rough. The only issue this one has is a couple dots of green on the little lever. Appears to have had little use. it is made of the highest quality. Perfect working order. nice and smooth. But I found no thing that would indicate damage to the strength of the rod. The cork handle has the original plastic cover still included, but at some point it has been sliced and removed. The ferrule is positive and tight. The stripping guides, snake guides and the tip guide are in great shape and solid. The wraps are also in excellent condition. There is no cloth rod bag or rod tube. Production continued into the 1980's. My best guess is that this rod was built in the mid-to late-1960's.
