Beautiful Antique Thousand Eye Eyes Large Pitcher Decanter- a unique find- blown& pressed vintage clear glass EAPG. All of the art work and collectibles being sold by Adams-Byrd Fine Art& Antiques have been collected and selected one at a time by the proprietor. An art historian with many years of training and experience in university art history departments, museums, galleries, and historic sites both in the U.S. and abroad. In most cases the pieces offered for sale on Ebay are from the business inventory(the business has been based in the Washington, D.C. area for many years) Our inventory is extremely large, so the majority of the pieces we are putting on Ebay have never been displayed in any of our retail locations. Occasionally, we are also selling pieces from our personal collection. The art and collectibles that we are offering ... moreto Ebay buyers are special and unique pieces that have been carefully“curated” by us. This beautiful old clear glass decanter/ pitcher in the thousand eye/ eyes pattern was blown into a four part mold(and a three part mold was used for the stopper) Several companies made this pattern. So we will have to leave it up to the experts in antique glass to determine which company made this fine and rare pitcher/ decanter. The exact dating also will be left to the experts. The clarity and quality of this piece(including the blown base) indicate an early date. It is in good used condition. There are no cracks. On the bottom of the stopper. Some little marks are either very small chips or imperfections from the glass molding process. The only surface"roughness" is from the pontil marks. We have never used it; it has just been displayed. Inside, around the perimeter edge of the base, there is a slight white ring. We never washed the inside, but the new owner might want to- to make this piece even more perfect. On the stopper some of the convex eyes in one area on the lower half have little"dimples" on the tips- they did not completely fill in with glass in the mold.

The one with the scalloped top rim has a very thin sliver on the interior top edge. The blue Thousand Eye is a real nice piece with no damage. Another clear one is a footed Jacob's Ladder made by Bryce ca. 1891. Another clear one is in the Virginia 1901 pattern. It has manufacturer's flaw around the rim at the most protruding point. Columbia by Co-operative Flint Glass Co. is also clear. There is a clear Moon& Stars barrel-shaped one. Don't kn ow the age. P ossibly newer as it looks too nice for eapg. The ruby flashed with"Linden" sc ripted on it is a real nice piece w ith a polished bottom rim. The am berina one might be newer- it's thicker than the others and marked U.S.A. with a D in a circle on the bottom. The last is the ruby flash in the Heartband pattern. AMAZING GROUP - 3 PAIRS OF ANTIQUE EYEGLASSES & VINTAGE AO METAL EYE GLASS CASE
This auction is for 3 pairs of antique METAL EYE GLASSES AND AN AO METAL CASE. Although these do not go together. The group is extra special due to the early ages of the glasses. I must say I am not a collector and the data given is the best I could find in articles on the internet to identify the pieces. The eye glass case is by American Optical. The cover has an ao logo and reads"Wear these goggles. Protect your eyes. The interior is felt covered. The case measures about 6" long by 2 3/4" wide. Two types of eye glasses were found in this type case. One dated to WWII and were colored glass aviator glasses. The second type were called"Steampunk goggles" with a rubber covered metl frome. These were safety glasses and had side guards for extra protection. The Glasses include three different styles. The first photo shows ... morea spring bridge PINC-NEZ. The pair measures about 3 1/2" x 1 1/2" It is a black metal with some rust. The spring bridge produced enough tension to keep the piece on the nose. The nose pads are also movable and they have a. I think, rubber covering for comfort. This style was popular from about 1880-1940. It is most likely that this pair dates to the late 1800's or early 1900's. The glass in the frames can not be changed. The second pair is a Straight Temple style made of steel. They are quite rusty but are still a sturdy pair. The lenses again are rivited and can not be changed. One lens is broken. This pair measures about 4 1/4" long x 1 1/8" wide. The frame temples are each about 5 1/2" long. The bridge is solid(with no spring to it) and the pair has no nosepiece. This style can be found from 1830-WWI. My best guess is that this pair dates to around the mid 1800's. The third pair is a Riding Temple style. These were most common from 1880-1920. The temples curved around the ear to hold them in place when riding a bumpy horse. This pair is in the best shape. this is an exquisite very rare antique hand carved asian ox bone dual coy fish tape measure. it is a total length of 58 inches long and is beautifully cut with very ornate/ intricate detailing and cut into a stylized intertwined double coy pose. there are two detailed knobs on each side and they are the reels to reel in the tape. the tape has a gorgeous fish finial that reels into the coys mouth when fully reeled in. it is in great shape and measures 2 1/4 by 2 1/4 inches very dense and has wonderful grain from the bone. Pattern is nice and has a definite Deco feel to it.The base has a sharply beveled edge as is often seen on the nicer quality vintage glass.
