MARKINGS: The dive lip reads: HEDDON'S DOWAGIAC. The exact age is unknown however it's believed this is pre-1934 due to the L-RIG hardware. VAMP WOOD LURE CONDITION: Measures aprox. 4-1/2" long. Listed as a WARRIOR! The right eye is clear. The left eye has a deep crack. The"VAMP" wood lure has what we call"General Use and Aging" scattered throughout. You can see the Fisherman use and aging of the older wood lure in the photos. Our use of the word"multiple" means the lure has a combination of in excess of(10) blemishes. Vintage Heddon Strawberry Dowagiac Minnow Lure with River Runt Box
Here we have a vintage Heddon Strawberry Dowagiac Minnow Lure. This lure is in fairly good shape however it does have some slight paint chipping at the top of the head as well as the middle of the bottom and very slightly on the top of the tail. This is a great early lure and the glass eyes and the hooks are still in great condition. The lure is about 5" in length. The paint job still looks good despite the slight damage. Also with this lure we have a Heddon River Runt box. This box is not in great shape and is not the box for this lure. Item: Vintage Heddon's Dowagiac Torpedo Fishing Lure. Model#120 The standard Torpedo No. 130 is 4 1/2" and has two belly-mounted treble hooks. All Torpedoes are found to have L-rig. Two piece or surface hardware. They were offered in catalogs in wood until 1936. This particular lure has glass eyes and has a wood color finish. There are propellers at head and tail and both have written, Heddon's Dowagiac" Not sure if repainted, but looks original. Condition: Used. Propellers show wear, hooks show rust/use/wear. This is a beautiful antique Heddon Dowagiac Minnow in Fancy Sienna with UNMARKED props. Glass eyes, only a few minor blemishes, and the belly weight still intact. The unmarked props on this bait date it prior to 1915-1917, making it nearly a hundred years old. The body(from just before the back hardware to the tip of the nose before the front hardware) measure 3 3/8 ins. and it weighs approximately an ounce. hi what I have is a Heddon reel this reel comes with the box. Original tissue, unused cork arbor and reel-image 1 the box has wear on the corners and the lid has a slit-but the corners are in tact- image 7 and 8 the reel is marked Heddon Dowagiac P-51-image 10 the reel has originally $8.95 when new-image 2 the reel has been fished the inside of the box is clean-image 8 the insert tells you about parts and the famous head ring that is removeable simply by turning it counterclockwise. the emountable head ring is for longer life and easier oiling Thank you for viewing my auction. Lot of Antique Fishing Lures, Two Old Wooden Lures, Heddon's Dowagiac and other
Lot of(2) old wooden lures. The top one is obviously very old but it either has no markings or they are simply not visible. The bottom is a Heddon Dowagiac. And I don't mind commenting on this ones condition because it is very bad. As you can see the eyes are gone and the paint is coming off. It must have been a favorite of some fisherman years ago. I am not experienced with the date of manufacturer. Nor condition of these fishing lures, which varies, so this lot is sold as you see them.
