Very nice VINTAGE GARCIA MITCHELL 308 SPINNING REEL with Excellent Mechanics to the best that I can tell with the exception of the drag does not have a lot of play left in the adjustment: washers are probably worn. There are some minor signs of use with a little dirt or dust in the cracks or crevices. But definitely nothing major for sure(see pics) The edges on both ends of the reel foot have been trimmed down slightly so the reel will fit on the reel seat of almost any rod, no matter how small. It says FRANCE on the bottom of the reel foot with the number 751955. Please see pics as they are part of the description. What you see and what I have described is what you get. Very good condition Made in France Mitchel spool. It fits the 308 models as well as a few others but I fish the 308's myself and just have more spools and parts than I need. You can't beat the old 308's for crappie fishing and I do like the shallow spools since I change line out fairly often and you don't have to tie a splice and leave some old on with the shallow spool. Many of my items are from estate sales. I try my best to test each item and to describe it in the same manner. Additional identifying marks: Letters on each are B. C. F and H. And the below dimensions are constant for all 4 spools. As you can see in the photos, three spools are nearly mint and the forth shows wear with a few"dents" and scuffs. These spools have been in steamer chest storage along with a great deal of other vintage fishing tackle since the 1960's. For your consideration are two Mitchell 308 ultralight spinning reels. Each is an older French made reel. Though one is an earlier version(the one with the black spool) Cosmetically. The newer 308 is in very good- condition, including some scratches, nicks and edge wear. The older 308 is in average condition, with paint loss in addition to scratches, nicks and edge wear. See pictures for details of the actual condition of this reel. Mechanically, each reel is in excellent condition, including smooth cranking functional drag, reverse/antireverse and bail mechanisms. please email if you can not see the pictures and information below Item Description ~ Vintage Garcia Mitchell 308 Spinning Reel. Box paper label for a 308 Reel, 640546. The Reel is#605905 on the bottom, and marked Made in France and US Patent 2,726,052. The serial numbers are mis-matched, and the reel does not seem to fit quite right in this box. The pictures picked up dust spots but the box does have some age surface wear and the reel and extra spool have some finger printing. A little edge rub wear from the box but the reel does not appear to have been used much, if at all. The extra spool is unused with original tag, and the box has surface wear and scratches, and the little clasp slot has split so it does not close and hold tight. The 2 papers are a warranty registration form and a product advertisement listing for Garcia products in ... moregeneral(not specific to the 308 reel.
