Monumental Empire Crotch Mahogany Dresser Vanity Carved Paw Feet c1880's
Being offered for sale is this Monumental American Empire Mahogany& Crotch Mahogany Dresser/ vanity with large Carved Paw Feet circa 1880's. This is a huge beautiful 19th century dresser that offers a tremendous amount of storage possibilities with all the drawers in crotch mahogany with the original glass pulls. The original crotch mahogany framed beveled dressing mirror with powerful S scroll mirror supports and carved Paw Feet with hidden casters intact on the feet and we believe this piece to also have its original finish. This outstanding Empire dresser measures 73 inches in height from the floor to the top of the mirror. Height to the sides from the floor measures 45 inches, height from the floor to the drop center portion measures 17 1/4 inches, total width of the dresser is 69 inches, total depth of 23 1/2 inches and weighs ... moreapproximately 200 lbs. The original beveled mirror measures 41 1/4 inches high by 24 1/2 inches wide. This dresser does disassemble into 7 pieces for easier handling during shipping and moving. All of the locks are intact on this piece but we do not have the key. The original beveled mirror does show some streaking and spotting as common in antique mirrors. And the mirror does pivot front to back to adjust for viewing. The top left portion of the mirror does have a lift in the frame edge, and there are some areas of missing veneer above and below the center bottom drawer this is typical of these Empire pieces and doesn't affect the integrity of the piece by no means, just a part of the time worn characteristics these old pieces have endured over the past 100 years or so. Pr Vtg 19" Porcelain Figural Candelabra German 4 Arm Cupid Putti Lion Floral Paw
Offered from a local estate is a pair of figural porcelain candlesticks with. A triangular plinth base under paw feet with acanthus leaf decoration between floral plaques. Atop that is another plinth and there sits a putti figure holding a large floral garland draping over his. Knees and the plinth. The candlestick continues up in column form with leaf. Flower and reed decoration to the cup 13 1/4" tall. An ornate. Openwork 3 arm, 4 light topper sits in the cup to convert from single candle sticks to candelabras. These arms are gilt and end in griffon or lion heads with open mouths right under the candle cups and bobesches. Total height is 19 1/4" Width with tops is about 10" the bases are about 6" across. They have and impressed mark on the bases of crossed hammers that I believe is German or Austrian. One is marked 736 ... moreand one marked 737 each also has an impressed'X' or cross. Very good vintage condition with no losses or damage noted other than crazing on the base. And some gold wear throughout. This is a true pair. This is a beautiful and scarce Pair of c.1815-1820 Derby Pot Pourri Paw Footed Urns with Covers in Imari type decoration. The covered urns each stand approximately 5-1/2" tall to the top of the finial. The matched pair of Derby pot-pourri urns with covers each show the c.1815-1820 crown. Crossed batons and D mark in iron-red from the Robert Bloor& Co. period of Derby. Of squat waisted form. With a cone finial, the rims pierced, the rim of the bowl applied with four richly gilt masks, the bowl on four paw and leaf feet above a waisted square base with canted corners. The condition is great with o nly very minor wear to the gilt decoration and underside of the base(commensurate with age) Along with very minor, faint, crazing on the interior of one urn. There are NO repairs, NO restoration and NO replacements. As mentioned, the undersides ... moreshow the Derby mark. They also show a museum inventory cataloged number. Description Beautiful Biedermeier/ Empire Table. A lovely piece of furniture. It exudes quality it is of the empire style and would date from around 1845. The table top has a marquetry design. There is slight lifting to a few pieces of veneer as can be seen in the pictures but they are secure and I am loathed to restore the table in this condition as it(in my opinion) still sound. The overall condition i good there are a couple of small nicks to one of the uprights but its all age related ware so I will let the pictures do the talking. The main wood is Mahogany. The Lion paw feet are made of Brass and the marquetry and banding really draws the eye to the piece. IM UNSURE IF THIS IS ENGLISH OR FRENCH FAIENCE. I HAVE SOLD NUMEROUS ENGLISH CREAMWARE ITEMS OVER THE PAST SEVERAL DECADES AND THIS IS DEFINATLY THAT. It has a flying leaf capped scroll handle and it stands on 3 shell capped paw feet. It has a wide squared off rim and is made from a good guage of silver and has clear hallmarks. It is also stamped on the base"Sterling England" Assay Office: BIRMINGHAM Date: 1913/14 Makers Marks: W Ld C(W Coulthard Ltd) Dimensions: 5 inches long from lip to handle. The actual body is 3 inches wide and it is 3.25 inches tall to the top of the handle. It weighs 99g Condition: It is in very good condition. Acanthus leaf carvings and a North Wind Face circa 1890's.We believe this bow front china to have its original glass, its original finish and the original mirror on the inside back. This Victorian Tiger Oak china cabinet weighs approximately 130 lb. And measures 65 inches in height, 45 inches wide, and 15 1/2 inches in total depth at the center. The four original shelves each has double plate grooves at the back and each shelf measure 13 inches in depth by 40 1/4 inches wide. The mirror at the inside top back measures 35 1/4 inches long by 9 1/4 inches high. This is an auction of a Paw Paw Dragon Fly lure by Shakespeare. Shad style(No. L9223) new in box with papers. The lure measures 3 3/4 inches in size and weighs 1/2 oz. and has a wood body. The plastic cover of the box is soiled and the box is yellowed. There is a black substance on the lure in a couple of areas; I believe it is paper from the pamphlet(which has some paper tears that look similar in shape to the marks on the lure) Stamped on the lure are the words"Shakespeare" Dragon Fly" Hong Kong" Please see my other auctions for other lures.
