Bidding on a used Pflueger Pilot Fly Fishing Lure. Size 3/0. Very hard to find(listed as a scarce/rare) lure. The nickel plated Tandem Spinner reads"PFLUEGER" and"3/0" on top sides. Bumble Bee style. Not sure of name-maybe a Yellow Sally. If I guessed correctly it appears to be a model No. 1827, finally found an advertisement dated 1943. Lure has been gently fished I believe. Feathers and body material are semi soft. I have not cleaned or attempted to touch up the hook. Sharp hook point, the hook shaft shows specks of surface rust at bend. Unusual Pflueger colorado spinner fishing lure w/ embossed stars
This small size 1/0 colorado spinner with the embossed stars is the only one I have seen in over 40 years of collecting tackle. It has 26 tiny stars embossed on this small blade. And. Just because I haven't ever seen one does not mean that it is worth a ton of money. It's just implies that I think it is a pretty scarce little bait. Underwater Minnow Fishing Lure -Glass Eyes See Through Hardware Pflueger ?
This appears to be an early Pflueger underwater minnow. The lure has glass eyes. Hand painted gill marks. The cups where the hooks connect are much smaller than the Shakespeare cups which I also listed. The lure is in poor condition as seen in the photos with some paint chipping and flakes. All of the hooks are missing. Both eyes are uncracked and the lure has one belly weight. The lure body measures approximately 3.5 inches in length. Pflueger small wood Globe old fishing lure LUM Used but still nice shape. Gold spots faded. There was a reporter doing a story about churches in different parts of the country. He went to St. Patrick's Cathedral in NY City. Noticed a golden telephone in the lobby and asked the pastor about it. Fr. Shinanigan told him it was a direct line to God and could make a call if he wanted for $10.000. That was more than he could afford. He wrote the article about St. Patricks and headed fer Salt Lake City. He got lots of info for his story on the Mormon Temple but again noticed a gold telephone. Asked about it and got the same story. He still didn't have $10.000 to spend. This went on for several more weeks as he visited famous churches around the country. And always the same gold telephone and price. Finally he decided to go to a small town ... moreand check out a church there. Showed up in International Falls at St Thomas' Church. Got lots of info and was ready to write his article about a small town church. Then he spotted the gold telephone. The pastor told him same story about it being a direct line to God. If he wanted to make a call it would be 25 cents. He was amazed at the price and when he asked why so cheap was told that it was a local call! Sure and yer ol Cap might be setting sail fer the north country soon. Jest depends when ice goes out on Rainy Lake. So I won't be running many auctions till I gets back up to Gods Country.
