The Pflueger Pal-O-Mine was introduced in 1925 and it continued to be in the product line well into the 1950's. It was first offered in two sizes. 4-1/4" and 3-1/4" and at least twelve colors. In 1932, a smaller(2-3/4" size was added. The larger(4-1/4" size carries two belly trebles and a trailing treble(3T) The two smaller sizes have only one belly treble and a trailer(2T) All carry identical diving lips which are fitted into a notch at the nose. but all diving lips are not marked. The vast majority of them are found with pressed eyes. A few of them were made with glass eyes. The glass eyes are considered rare and add ... moresignificantly to the valuation. Please check out the pictures carefully. The lure we have here is the 3-1/4" version with the single belly treble and a trailer(2T) This lure is a rare find on two counts. First. It does have a"marked" diving lip and it is equipped with glass eyes. Overall, this lure is in very good condition. The diving lip, hardware and hooks are all still bright and the glass eyes are perfect. The finish is intact with some scattered hook pointers and a few minor drags. The paint has yellowed just a tad on the belly and it has taken on a very nice vintage crazing or crackle. Look this one over seriously. It is a very nice"Pflueger Classic" with lots of character and visual appeal. It will add significantly to any vintage lure collection. ANTIQUE Pre-1900 PFLUEGER (ENTERPRISE MFG) Minnow Fishing LURE Painted Luminous?
For bid is an antique fishing lure by Pflueger(Enterprise Mfg) of Akron. Ohio. I haven't seen another like it searching ebay and google, so I'm thinking it is rare. The previous owner says it was made in the 1890's. The lure still has much of its silver and red paint(once luminous paint? I found a website that shows a copy of a patent issued to Ernest F. Pflueger in 1883. See here: The patent is for Pflueger's idea of painting lures with luminous paint so fish could see the bait easier at night. The second page of the patent shows a lure very similar to the one I'm selling(a spinner-less minnow) I've seen just a couple of Pflueger lures similar to this one that have sold on ebay recently. But they all have spinners of some kind. I'm wondering, since the lure I'm selling does not have a spinner of any kind, ... morecould it be one of the earliest made by Pflueger? Total extended length from tip of swivel to tip of feathers is about 7 inches. Minnow is about 2-1/2 inches long. I think the lure is made of rubber. But I don't know for sure. Vintage Pflueger ? Heddon ? 3 Surface / Popper Fishing Lure Lot Side Holes 1920s
Four vintage floating or popper type fishing lures. I don't know who made these. But one of my books identifies the hook attachments on the three lures with the side holes as having been used by Pflueger about 1928. The book also indicates that Heddon used similar hook attachment types. Lot includes: 1) Yellow lure with 4 1/4 inch long body and three holes in each side. Holes angle forward and at least the rear two are connected. All three of the lures with side holes have a swivel attachment on the front. This lure is in pretty good condition, with only a couple lines of crazing and light soiling. 2) Another 4 1/4 inch lure similar to number one. This lure only has one belly hook. A screw on the bottom front apparently attaches to the device that holds the swivel. There is a tiny hole drilled in the bottom front that would allow the ... moreattachment of a second hook. I don't know if lure ever had a second belly hook or not. Lure has scales on back and applied glitter on sides. Lure has some paint crazing, a couple tiny chips on the front, and a spot of soiling on the back. 3) Smaller 3 1/16 inch long lure similar to first two, but with two holes each side. One rear hook, one belly hook. Letters"et" on bottom. Jet? Scales on sides. Good paint with some crazing lines. Some soiling left side. 4) Yellow popper with 2 1/4 inch long body. Pflueger Palomine Wood Lure Glass Eyes Vintage Yellow Perch Paint Pattern
PALOMINE This wooden lure is from Pflueger. It measures 3 1/4" in length, is marked PALOMINE on the underside of the metal lip, and I believe, is the yellow perch paint pattern. The hardware is in good/user condition, the right eye has the slightest roughness to the"pupil" surface and the left one is okay. There is some slight"crazing" of the paint, the usual"pointers" a minute paint loss at the tail end of the lure and some loss on the left side of the metal lip(all photographed) Actually, not a bad lure considering its age! Note- both eyes have lines in the glass but running a finger nail over them and looking with a loop, I don't see any cracks. Powered by The free listing tool. We inspect every lure with a 10x jewelers glass. This version has the embossed eyes in very nice condition as no damage was found. The"Mustang" lure has what we call"General Use and Aging" scattered throughout. You can see the Fisherman use and aging of the older lure in the photos. Our use of the word"multiple" means the lure has a combination of in excess of(10) blemishes. General use blemishes include the following: Small hook nicks. Hook swings, scratches, hairline scratches, paint wear areas, rubs, paint loss or paint flakes, and soiling scattered throughout as seen below. There are scattered crazing lines as seen throughout. The hooks and hardware are aged and slightly tarnished as seen. The most of this nicking is in the form of hook swings about mid body on both side. Left nicking behind the eye is noted. Small paint flake on belly under dive lip areas. Remember, the lure has a combination of all these things. We think this displays best facing to the right! This is another fabulous old lure that has obviously never been used. It is in the original box and has what I believe. From what research I have done, is the original paperwork that came with it. As you can see in the photos, the box is marked with number"8555 MEADOW FROG" size 3. The box is in very near mint condition but is missing the clear plastic cover. This was found in a tackle box full of new old lures and tackle. Apparently someone either put these lures away for the future or, long ago, never had a chance to use them. These were donated to our local St. Vincent dePaul and I am selling them for this organization, with all proceeds going to help the poor in our community. Unused lures(see my other listings for these) These items are all old and unused, so are in at least near mint condition. Included is a very nice old 3/0 double spinner lure which, as you can see, has 2 blades and is well marked"PFLUEGER TANDEM SPINNER 3/0" This is in perfect condition with all feathers intact. You are also getting 3 carded leaders, a full tin of split shot sinkers, and a full tin of"HANDE-PAK FISH HOOKS" The latter tin's lid is on very tight, and I have not attempted to remove it because I did not want to chance damaging it, but it is full.
