New-old-stock Pflueger level wind reel dealer parts assortment in the factory metal case. There are 49 compartments of mainly NOS parts, but I was able to identify a few that show some use. Notice the nice print-out identifying the parts and part numbers. There are scratches on the green case. But it is very straight and solid with a slide-lock closure. I have not counted the items in the box, but there are a lot of them. I'm not sure if all the parts line-up with the print-out or not. Please look at the photos and judge for yourself. There are not many repair parts left in it but some. You also receive a bottle of vintage Pflueger Speede reel oil#379. It is actually completely full. There is also a small tube of Pflueger Run Free gear grease#2120 I have added to the case. Quite a bit left but the tube does have a cut in it so grease can squirt out the cut if tube is squeezed. For auction is a very nice mid 1900's Pflueger Progress No. 1774 solid brass frame with aluminum spool fly reel. This model has the slide option between click and free spin and functions properly. This reel is very clean and an absolute joy to use. The brass is very shiny. It is difficult to capture in photographs, and the aluminum is in nice shape with a shine. The sound of the clicking while fighting a trout is a special sound. While these pair perfectly with bamboo rods, I have enjoyed using it with 4/5 weight modern rods, It may be appropriate for up to 6 weight. This reel has a total weight of 136 grams or 4.75 oz. Up for bid is one vintage PFLUEGER MODEL A REDIFOR ANTI-BACK-LASH Casting Reel w/4:1 Multiplier. This reel is in good condition except it was missing the handle. I added the handle. Handle screw and washer from a parts box. I know the handle washer was from a Shakespeare parts reel. It measures 2" diameter, 3-15/16" deep including the handle, and has a foot measuring 2-3/8" long by 9/16" wide. There is a clicker controlled by a slide button on the front plate and a second slide button controls drag. The reel appears to be German Silver(except the handle that was added appears to be nickel plated brass. I noticed what looks like a small chip on the front bearing cap that may be hard to see in the photos. On the front plate it has inscribed"PFLUEGER, MODEL A, ANTI-BACK-LASH, REDIFOR" and on the rear plate it has ... moreinscribed"PATENTED, 841796-881850, OTHERS PENDING" and below above the 2 screws"1057" It is in working condition with the clicker and drag working. Having Googled this model resulted in a discussion board where there were pictures. The correct handle was similar looking with a counterweight and a amber color fluted knob. Some discussion took place about this reel model and whether it existed without the bulldog logo. This one has no logo. Some differences I note on this reel are the bearing caps are different. The slide button washers on this one are different sizes, the photo in the discussion board had them the same size. Apparently the Model A was at its' beginning by Pflueger around 1914. Vintage 1957 Pflueger Supreme 1573 Fishing Reel in Box NOS EZ Grip
This 55-year old Pflueger Supreme#1573 fishing reel looks as if it must have been put away and not used for a very long time. It has nice jewels and a nice finish. The reel itself is in beautiful condition: level wind. Anti-backlash, satin chrome finish in its original box. The reel works fine, and has a strong clicker. Accompanying it is its owner's guide and a new E-Z-GRIP Comfo Ring no. 430 and papers as well as a new set of handle covers no. 410 in their own box. Needless to say, time has dried out the original rubber and also the newer set of cover and handles, but it's nice to have a second set and the box to complement the reel. The handle cover box is in pretty nice and colorful condition. The fishing reel box is solid but is missing a strip on the tip where someone must have put some tape.
