Rod is one piece tapered square profile steel& has no makers name which are eligable but you can read two Pat. Nos. They are 1755159& 80990 stamped on different sides of the shaft. The 4 rings including the tip are all Red Agate lined. The handle which needs re-corking/rubber& is marked Speedlock Pat.No.1534674. The shaft has no signs of rust but would benefit from a good clean& needs a new butt cover. The reel is looks o.k apart from the broken handle-no rust apparant& almost free from scuffs& scratches. Vintage 1934 Pflueger Supreme Casting Reel Grimes Leather Case Double Fishing
This vintage casting reel with bag and leather case came from an estate auction in Vermont. The reel is marked Pflueger Supreme made in USA. The rubber pad around the reel is marked Pflueger pat no 1977142. This patent number dates the reel to October. 1934. The reel can either click or not. It has a free spool adjustment, appears to be fully functional. Under the rubber knobs, I believe to be zebra handles. The case is marked Bradleye Grimes Co. 5055. The bag has stitches missing on the top. The case, the bag, and the reel have wear/use marks.

Vtg. Pflueger Supreme 577 Single Action Fly Reel (Looks Unused)
Up for your consideration is a Pflueger Supreme#577 heavy duty single action fly reel with vinyl case in excellent condition. This is the reel every steelhead fly fisherman is looking to own. The beauty of this reel is the handle does not rotate while the fish takes line and has a drag knob that is easily adjustable. The anodized spool is turned from solid aluminum bar stock and has a capacity of 250 yards of 15-lb. test backing with 30 yards of fly line. It has no paint loss that I can see. Rare 1st oval model Pflueger Supreme box papers or pocket catalog from 1923
Look closely at the level wind on the reel pictured. The level wind"block" is flat instead of the round like later 1923 reels. Counting the front and back panels. The paper has 8 pages all on the subject of the reel, and it is labeled"form 40B. It also shows the April 3, 1923, patent and the $25.00 price, a whopping amount at that time. Measuring 6 inches by 3 and 1/2, it is roughly the size of the Supreme box and may have been box papers for that first reel as well as a general pocket catalog. This new style represents a huge change from the round-plated Supreme from before it. The front page has a rip, the pages are loose, and there are stains as you can see, but what a grate go-with if you are fortunate enough to have the reel. Pflueger Supreme Fly Reel, anti reverse, free spool function, ancient
This is an auction of one Pflueger Supreme Fly Reel. Used, and still in good condition. The reel shows the usual wear associated with normal use. The reel has a frame piece from a Pflueger 1495 Medalist replacing the original piece, which must have broken at some point. The reel drag functions fine, but the drag application takes place through a very narrow range of setting.I am not sure why that is, but some of the experts might have an idea about that being typical or maybe it can be enhanced somehow. The backplate of the reel, in the photos, shows a large manual selector, which converts the reel to a free spool mode, like a center pin function.interesting, but not for everyone I suppose. As you can see from the photos the reel is pretty clean. The anti reverse feature is working fine as well. Any questions feel free to ask. I was advised ... moreby another Ebay member that the reel is either a 577 or 578 model. And he advised the selector switch on the back of the reel engages the anti reverse function, in one position, and in the other a stripping drag function.but all I can determine is the other position is a total free spool mode.However, I am not familiar with this reel at all, so could be, I don't know. But it is obvious that the free spool mode would be ideal for the old fashioned extended drift fishing we use to do with Cogrove Reels of yesteryear, which is the function of the recent discovery of the use of center pin reels. No foreign bidders please. Just far to expensive to send this out of the country. Domestic US bidders only, including Alaska and Hawaii.I will determine postage more precisely, but the reel will have to be insured, had the Post Office totally destroy one a while back, which amounts to tracking.I will send the reel Priority Mail, which is a little more expensive and a lot faster.

#510 Free Sool Pflueger Supreme in the excellent vinyl case with papers, cleaned
This is the first model#510 Supreme of 1968 with the Phillips screws for the foot and the large"B' there as well. It was also the first year of the zipper case which is included in the auction. The paperwork is complete and shows the other items that were once in the zipper case with the reel. It wouldn't be too difficult to acquire those in time. There is rubbing on the rims where it is expected to be. But the reel has been disassembled, cleaned, relubed and oiled and is quite smooth. The free spool button in the center of the handle is operational, and the rim anti-reverse is working as well. There's not a speck of dirt on this one.
