It has nice jewels and a ... morenice finish. The reel itself is in beautiful condition: level wind. Anti-backlash, satin chrome finish in its original box. The reel works fine, and has a strong clicker. Accompanying it is its owner's guide and a new E-Z-GRIP Comfo Ring no. 430 and papers as well as a new set of handle covers no. 410 in their own box. Needless to say, time has dried out the original rubber and also the newer set of cover and handles, but it's nice to have a second set and the box to complement the reel. The handle cover box is in pretty nice and colorful condition. The fishing reel box is solid but is missing a strip on the tip where someone must have put some tape.

Pflueger manufactured the first Supreme No.1573 in 1916 and continued building ... morethis basic model with minor modifications over the years until the early 1960’s when the model number changed to 1575. Over this period. By my count there were about 20 variations of this basic style reel. The version being offered here is what I believe to be the 9 th version and was manufactured in 1931. The face plate has‘ PFLUEGER SUPREME’ MADE IN THE USA’ stamped rather than cast which was the case with later versions. Also stamped on the foot of the reel are the words PATENTED along with PATENTS PENDING and 9 patent numbers which are clearly shown in the photos. The 9 patent numbers tell us the year(1931) that this version was first made. Mechanically the reel is in very good condition. There are NO missing screws. Both end caps are present and the foot of the reel has not been altered in any way. The crank and spool turn freely as well as the handles on the crank. The clicker is strong and load and the mechanism which turns the clicker on and off works smoothly. In terms of appearance. I have not cleaned this reel up since I first came by it and have displaced it a shown in the photos. The reel has the typical dirt and grime one would expect from a reel over 80+ years old and finish on the reel itself. Looks good. The foot and lower bars do show some loss of plating where the brass is showing through. This reel will make a very nice addition to any collection of Pflueger Supreme reels. If you are looking for some of the other versions of the Supreme reel. You might find what you are looking for in one of my other auctions. As there are NO returns in this auction. It has nice jewels and a ... morenice finish. The reel itself is in beautiful condition: level wind. Anti-backlash, satin chrome finish in its original box. The reel works fine, and has a strong clicker. Accompanying it is its owner's guide and a new E-Z-GRIP Comfo Ring no. 430 and papers as well as a new set of handle covers no. 410 in their own box. Needless to say, time has dried out the original rubber and also the newer set of cover and handles, but it's nice to have a second set and the box to complement the reel. The handle cover box is in pretty nice and colorful condition. The fishing reel box is solid but is missing a strip on the tip where someone must have put some tape.

This is a vintage Pflueger Supreme model 1576 Jumping Bass baitcaster. This is the narrow spool model made in the USA. These smaller free spool Supremes are getting very hard to find in this condition. There are some very small rub marks from normal light usage. As you can see in the photos it is in very clean condition. Everything works as it should to my knowledge. The free spool releases smoothly. The spool drag adjusts well. The anti-reverse functions work. The spool clicker engages easily. It has a B stamped on the foot. There is a spare nut-half for the shaft double thread spindle. This reel is in very good condition and is sold as is. These free spool models were the best reels of their time with many innovations still used in modern reels. A great reel for a collection. Up for auction a CIRCA 1929 PFLUEGER NO.1573"SUPREME" LEVEL-WIND A-B-L CASTING REEL WITH THE SCARCE ORIGINAL MAROON BOX. LABELED LEATHER POUCH, INSTRUCTIONS AND INSERT. The Supreme would be Pflueger's highest-grade casting reel for a mind-boggling 50 years or more and is one of the finest quadruple-multiplying reels built in this country. Because this example comes in the earlier maroon box and is stamped under the foot with the nine 1923 to 1928 Patent numbers. We know it's from the series first produced in 1929. Faceplate is stamped"Pflueger SUPREME Made In U.S.A. A very lightweight reel built in Pflueger's satin finish and comes equipped with strong clicker, smooth level-wind, perfect operating anti-backlash control, covered oil ports, tension control, cork arbor, dual pyralin handle grips and an extra level-wind ... morepawl nut concealed in a receptacle built into the side of the reel. Reel is in about Fine condition for these, showing moderate overall wear consistent with normal use. Still displays nicely. Works perfectly and is extremely smooth-running. Even has about same amount of fishing line attach and knobs are identical in size and color. Handles turn smoothly. Line winders work and both have good clickers that will turn off/on just fine. Dont know what the test line is but it is pretty stout. Certainly not rotten or deteoriated. Extra Photos for condition viewing. Both reels are marked PFLUEGER SUPREME MADE IN U.S.A. These are from local estate of a gentleman that collected old metal fishing reels and did some repair work when needed. I dont see or feel anything wrong with either. Has a star drag, original line look is nice condition but it had some wear from used. This reel is in working order,absolutely no missing parts. Some of the screws on sides are scuffed from some one trying to disassemble it for cleaning. the clicker is very strong. The handles are a little tight not sure if some were from factory like this. I see some very free on reels and some tight? The box is in nice shape with some shelf wear. Comes with instruction, original oil bottle and grease tube and a very nice leather black case. No reel guards. Hard to find one as complete as this one is. Have original bill of sale purchased in 1960. Like old ... morereels here is one for you.
