Vintage Herter's Rod & Pflueger Supreme Casting Rod & Reel Combo
Here is a vintage Herter's casting rod& Pflueger Supreme reel combo. The rod is 6' foot 6" inches in length. With a nice long cork handle and ball end. However. The aluminum handle area does have some discoloration due to age. It is a medium action with good flex. The eyes and wraps are perfect. The reel is like new and only has one small shiny paint mark on the bottom edge. This combo is a true find and worthy of use or collection. Posted with

Here we have a Vintage Pflueger Supreme 2542 Fishing Reel. The reel itself is in great vintage condition. However the plastic on the end of the handle has"melted" Reel spins smoothly as it should. It does show light signs of use. And still has line on it from the last time it was used. This reel comes with the original Pflueger Service Instruction Paper. And just like the no-nonsense loo of the reel. This one works really well, and it appears to be in very good condition except for the comfort grips on the handle and the number trim on the left side plate. They were an aftermarket add-on back in the day, but as you can see, the rubber breaks down over time. I have not tried to remove it. I'll leave that to the pros. This Pflueger reel is suppose to be rare due to the pawl and the serial number.
