Vintage Heddon 119R Natural Scale River Runt Wooden Fishing Lure Early & Tough!
Here is a beautiful first production model(circa 1929) 119R Natural Scale River Runt. The first production models are extremely hard to find. And especially in this condition. It has the small glass eyes set in concave surface, small narrow type 1 diving lip marked"Heddon Dowagiac" and has an unmarked belly. There are just a few minor flaws that keep this from being totally mint. It is still in Excellent Plus condition. My photos should show any flaw in magnification. There is a very tight age line next to the left eye, and a light hook swing to the varnish on the same left side. There is a TINY amount of varnish chipping at the base of the tail. In hand, this lure is as close to pristine as I have ever seen. These are few and far between, so don't miss your chance to add this one to your collection. This is a collection of over 2.000 lures! A white lure in this condition should be considered Rare! LURE MARKINGS: The belly is marked in black letters: Heddon River Runt Spook Floater. The exact age ... moreis unknown but believed 1940's era. LURE CONDITION: The lure measures aprox. 3" long. This version sports the SURFACE hardware and has the sleek GOLD EYES. Both GOLD eyes are excellent and with-out damage. The gold eyes date the lure as being an older version. The"River Runt" lure has what we call"General Use and Aging" scattered throughout. You can see the Fisherman use and aging of the older lure in the photos. Our use of the word"multiple" means the lure has a combination of in excess of(10) blemishes. General use blemishes include the following: Small hook nicks. Hook swings, scratches, hairline scratches, paint wear areas, rubs, paint loss or paint flakes, and soiling scattered throughout as seen below. The hooks and hardware are aged and tarnished as seen. The lure is in fantastic condition, we have not tried to clean it nor have we done anything with the Creek Chub Box. The box has 5502 stamped on the end along with red and white but we can't make out the rest except it is one of the Pikie lures. The lure and box will be carefully wrapped for safe shipping. Heddon Tackle Antique River Runt Spook Vintage Fishing Lure Nice Old Brush Box
1 Used Heddon 9119 XRY River Runt. Yellow shore sinking lure, two piece front& rear hardware, gold eyes are worn out. This lure is a tad longer than the normal 9119 length heddon finally settled into for final production. It's also a tad shorter than the 9400 floating model. Hence the short signature minus the word"sinker" If you like them old. This is one of the oldest plastic model river runts you will come across. It's the only one I have ever seen. I have heard they also made some of these with glass eyes, I have never seen one of those either. Shows age with the narrow lip and red belly signature.
