Washington, the lure is in VG+ condition with a couple of small pointers, a scratch on the tail, a rub on the bottom and one on the lip but nothing major. The color pattern is Herring-Yellow with a bluish/green scale on top with a yellow belly. The box is the top only– no bottom. A nice example of these beautiful old lures. These use a bead chain hook rig as shown on the instructions on the back of the package. I don't have the chains or hooks but they would be easy to make or just buy from a tackle shop. The packaged lure is not included in this lot. I only have one and used it so you could see the rigging instructions. They measure 4-3/4 long by 1-1/8" in diameter. This is a very interesting lure. I have not seen one with the tail on top. Maybe someone added it way. The lure has been fished but the lure is in very good condition. The hooks are a bit rusted. There is also another set of hooks. The box is in good condition with just a little wear.The sticker on the end of the box came off. It is complete and is inside the box. The lure is 5 inches long. A hard to find Salmon plug made in the Keyport Washington area. I had eleven of these at one time. All found in a barn. I have two left, this being one of the two. A six inch body(Built on a Minser Chinook body) with the leather tab extending one half inch. the face has been notched for the leather lip and is attached with three brads. This auction is for an unusual vintage salmon plug/lure that was recently found at a local estate sale. The wood body measures about 4" long. I believe the eyes are plastic( not glass) Painted on the bottom are the words. Pat Pend. in black. The body is decorated differently on each side. One side has a black scale pattern over 4 green painted bars. The other side has glitter( or mica) over the green bars. There is a horseshoe shaped plate on the flat front end. I see no name or manufacturer on this lure. This plug has some wear and light rust( please see photos) but seems complete. I'm not a fishing lure collector or dealer and I haven't tried to clean or polish this curious piece. The local collectors I've shown this lure to haven't been able to identify it. Maybe you can.
