THE PENNY MAGAZINE April 22. 1837 British salmon fishery snake charmers of India This is a paper which is 175 years old. It is printed in a small format. Measuring 7” by 11” in size, and is 8 pages long. The issue came from a bound volume and has typical minor disbinding marks at the spine, but is otherwise in excellent condition, with a little light browning from age. The lead article of the paper is part of a series on the fishing industry in England. With this one titled, BRITISH FISHERIES— THE SALMON. It features a lovely wood engraving on the front page of. Salmon Spearing. The article is over three pages long. And includes several small illustrations of the growth of salmon spawn, and the adult fish. The text is about 300 lines long. It is a twisted gut eyed fly and is in good used condition and on jap anned hook( see clear picture to decide before bidding) It is approx 2.5 inches total length and has an interim loop to protect the twisted gut.
