It retains its chrome Butt Pin. it also has the old fashioned tie line addition. MY Opinion is that this is the sweetest of the two. The one with unbroken Glass Eyes is also known as a Best Ever"OLE BLACK JOE. It also has its chrome pin. There is a most interesting history on these Indiana-Ohio fishing lures. Mr. Carter obtained his patents in about 1919. It is suspected his later"partner" Mr. Dunkleberger, was responsible for including glass eyes into these Antique lures. YOU decide. You are bidding on an antique Shakespeare Lure titled a"WAUKAZOO SURFACE SPINNER" These lures were made from 1929-1931 featuring a pear shaped body. Ventral fin, one nose propeller and two hooks, the lure is marked on the propeller Shakespeare 1. It measures 2.75" in length 3.5" including hardware. Vintage Fishing Lures Shakespeare Dopey w/ Box Antique Wooden Lure Collectible
Here's an old wooden Shakespeare Fishing Lure called a Dopey. The model is 6603. It's Black and White with Silver eyes and Black pupils, has a metal diving lip and two treble hooks. The finish is very clean, while the paint does have some hairline cracks, but no chipping. There are two small dings, but nothing that's effected it's finish. The hooks show very little/ if any rust and the hardware is tarnished. The box is damaged on one end, while the rest only shows minor wear for it's age. See photo's for details.
