Vintage Trout Oreno Shur Strike Lures
Lot of 4 Vintage Lures- There are 2 Trout-Orenos. The Red Head is in very good condition and the Rainbow has some chips. One is a sing wire double hook, the other is 2 seperate hooks. The Black Head looks to be a Shur Strike. It is has wire through construction, is wider and longer than the Orenos(1 3/4" in length) The Frog also has wire through construction, but has a wider mouth than any of the other plugs. Ok I know nothing about these lures. This one looks like new, but some white dust on hooks. Is marked Bass Obite. I think the box is for another lure that I do not have. The box is 5 1/8 inches long. That should give an idea about the size. I can not see any damage or water use. The guy that owned this has been gone 20 years and he inherited it from someone else that is gone. Here is a trio of Bass Oreno baits including a gorgeous wine red lure with tack eyes and painted cups that I have no clue to the maker. It is in super nice condition too. Comes with a glass eye luminous lure that is likely South Bend and has some old crackle overpaint. Last lure is red and white but has unusual wide rimmed hook hanger cups so I wondered if it might be Shur Strike or paw Paw. Maybe you can figure them out. All three for one winning bid. Here is a pair of glass eyed wooden lures: a Creek Chub Jointed Pikie with the large'military' stencil name on back and LOTS of silver flash glitter that is heavier than usual. Shur Strike made a lot of baits for other companies and in this case was made for Shapleigh. If you have the Shur Strike book. on page 115 you can see the Blue Box alone prices at $50- $100 and on page 111 you will find the S series# 75 for the"Bass Oreno Type" Gorgeous Box and although it is not perfect it is one of the nicest boxes I have ever laid eyes on. Crisp and Clean. Looks like I left the bait shop with it yesterday! I believe bait is unfished but does have a small lip chip and a light age line or 2 but easily could have happened in the box. Shur Strike made a lot of baits for other companies and in this case was made for Shapleigh. In the"S-Series" color code 14 is universal for both Chain Perch and Yellow Perch. If you have the Shur Strike book. on page 115 you can see the Blue Box alone prices at $50- $100 and on page 111 you will find the S series# 62 for the Floating HR. I do have some additional supporting info available on the color- ensuring you this combo is 100% correct if you would like to see just ask. The combo is correct. I believe bait is unfished but does have a few pointers from storage. The box does have a few storage issues but quite nice.
