MARKINGS: The dive lip reads: HEDDON'S DOWAGIAC. The exact age is unknown however it's believed this is pre-1934 due to the L-RIG hardware. VAMP WOOD LURE CONDITION: Measures aprox. 4-1/2" long. Listed as a WARRIOR! The right eye is clear. The left eye has a deep crack. The"VAMP" wood lure has what we call"General Use and Aging" scattered throughout. You can see the Fisherman use and aging of the older wood lure in the photos. Our use of the word"multiple" means the lure has a combination of in excess of(10) blemishes. General use blemishes include the following: Small hook nicks. THIS IS A HEDDON DOWAGIAC VAMP SPOOK LURE WITH GLASS EYES. THE HOOKS ARE BOTH IN VERY GOOD SHAPE AND THEY LOOK LIKE THE ORIGINALS. THE HOOKS AND DIVING LIP ARE TIGHT AND I CANNOT FEEL ANY THING LOOSE. I WRAPPED THE HOOKS IN SCOTCH TAPE FOR PROTECTION. THERE ARE STRESS FRACTURES ON THE BODY BUT I THINK IT IS JUST CRACKED PAINT. The lure has some age lines, pointers and wear(mostly on belly) but I feel it's in very nice condition(see photos) This lure has a beautiful color and finish. The box it's in is labeled for a jointed vamp 7309P(see last photo) Lure is stamped Heddons Dowagiac on the diving lip and it's a great lure with a lot of show and shine. Up for auction is a rare. Wooden,vintage Giant Vamp model 7550PAS fishing lure manufactured by Heddon intended to catch pike, musky and saltwater species. Heavy duty bait by design. Bait measures 5-3/4" Bait color pattern is the rare Allen Stripey. The paint on this bait is gorgeous although there is very light paint crazing on the belly. I note that the"Allen" stripe is prominent on the right side and lesser on the left.rare factory oversight. Unique. Only has box wear with a very small dent on the belly from the round of a hook.not the point. Hook hangers are of the cup style reinforced by the through body screws. Hardware has light corrosion. Eyes are black on gold. On the belly is stenciled in gold"HEDDON GIANT VAMP" Box lid has some light edge wear, some minor dings, fairly bright graphics and is in pretty good ... moreshape other than where it looks like someone tore off a price tag in the center of the lid. Box bottom has some light staining. Both are straight and solid with no corner tears. On the end of the box lid is stamped"7550PAS VAMP" Also included is the Heddon"Popular" insert.
