MARKINGS: The dive lip reads: HEDDON'S DOWAGIAC. The exact age is unknown however it's believed this is pre-1934 due to the L-RIG hardware. VAMP WOOD LURE CONDITION: Measures aprox. 4-1/2" long. Listed as a WARRIOR! The right eye is clear. The left eye has a deep crack. The"VAMP" wood lure has what we call"General Use and Aging" scattered throughout. You can see the Fisherman use and aging of the older wood lure in the photos. Our use of the word"multiple" means the lure has a combination of in excess of(10) blemishes. General use blemishes include the following: Small hook nicks. I am offering 2 Heddon Co. lures from collection I have been listing. One is a jointed Original Heddon Wood Vamp and other a Heddon Lucky 13. Both are considered in good condition. 3 1/2 inch Lucky 13 has frog markings. Surface has light surface markings mostly on underside. 2nd lure the wood vamp measures 1 1/4" back section joint& 3 1/4" at the front section joint. There are several wear lines visible under surface of back section.Also as mentioned above there is a small dig over right eye. Print of names is found clear and not faded. Up for auction is a rare. Vintage Fish Flesh box(only) for a rare Jointed Vamp Spook model W9739D fishing lure manufactured by Heddon. This box once contained the rare jointed model vamp in color pattern luminous green scale with a white or lumious paint belly. Again, in this case, as rare as the box is, the bait is more rare than the box since no known example exists. The"W" appeared in 1936 and 1937 Heddon catalogs and denotes the luminous color thereby dating this box. This box has light edge and corner wear and has a couple rubs. The box top has darkened with age but still retains clear graphics. Both top and bottom are clean, straight and solid with no corner tears. Diving lip shares a single screw and the tail has larger drop hook hardware. Diving bill is marked: Heddon's Dowagiac. L-Rig hardware. Both glass eyes look good but one may have a very slight imperfection. It has honest wear. Ding at the tail area, but is still a tough lure to find in this color. Up for auction is a plastic. Vintage Vamp Spook model 9750XRY fishing lure manufactured by Heddon to catch bass, pike, musky and other freshwater specie. Bait measures 4-1/4" Bait color pattern is yellow shore minnow. Paint on this bait is in great shape with the only mark being a hook point behind its left eye. Aside from that this bait is perfect. On the belly is stenciled in black"HEDDON VAMP SPOOK" Bait sports surface hook hangers. All hardware is present, intact, bright and shiney though the hooks have light corrosion. Eyes are black on gold. Box lid has some light edge wear, fading and some staining. Box top is square and solid with no corner tears. They are from Philip Wenker’s Collection. He was my Father. We lived in California. He passed away 20 years ago, and my husband and I moved to Oregon. All of the Rolls are in good playable condition. Most are in original boxes, some have been"restored" by my Dad so he could read the titles, Those he really liked have"STARS" Those are the ones he liked the best. For awhile my Dad had some of his better rolls professional re cut and they called( the label) Golden Age" Most of this collection are RAGS and BLUES. These re cuts are all on Hi quality paper of the same type the original rolls had and they truly play like the original ... morerolls. I will list which of these are re cut. He did these in the 1980’s. I will try to list any alteration he made to the labels. Such as"re inked" and I am playing each one before I list it, to be sure they all still track right. This is a Vintage Old Wood Heddon Baby Vamp Fishing Lure. It is in unfished condition with some tackle box wear. See the pictures and judge condition for yourself.
