The Vamp lure measures aprox. 4-3/8" long. The Baby Vamp has the left eye with a hairline crack while the right eye is clear. The Vamp lure has both eyes in excellent condition as there are no cracks or hairlines in either glass eye. The white on the faces is rubbing down to the primer and not added paint! I have up for bidding is on a: Heddon"VAMP" in PIKE SCALE LURE MARKINGS: This particular dive lip is marked: Heddon's Dowagiac. The belly is marked. The age is known to be 1923 to 1934 as this version has the L-RIG hook hanger hardware. The Vamp lure was introduced in 1921 as the Vampire. In 1922 the L-Rig was not longer attached to the dive lip and the name was changed to Vamp. In or around'34 Heddon switched hardware and began using the 2-piece flap-rig. One can be pretty sure this was made in the 1930's vs. 20 due to markings on the belly.Eyes look good. EXCUSE THE WHITE GLARE. THANKS FOR LOOKING. The Flap-Tail does have some crazing in the paint, and some chips near the head and tail. There is some rust on the hooks and on the flap tail. The glass eyes are in good condition. The Joint Vamp has signs of crazing in the paint with a few chips near the joint and the places where the hooks are attached. The paper work in box also states other wood classics. It has the Gold Eyes. It also has two marks on the finish that was caused by plastic hook covers. Pictures show front mark above the front hook. Second mark on bottom in front of back hook. Gold stenciling states(Original Heddon Wood Vamp) Shows no use of lure.
