PAIR OF NOTTINGHAM FISHING REELS VINTAGE/ANTIQUE SPEAR-BACKED. NICE CONDITION Thank-you for looking at my auction. And good luck in the bidding. Here we have a pair of wooden spear-backed Nottingham fishing reels. My Dad(who lives in Nottinghamshire) found them while clearing his garage out. He was given them by his Dad when he first took up fishing as a boy, and they weren't new then, which makes them 80 years old at the very least- my Grandad apparently told my Dad they were Victorian, we have no way of telling if that was really true though. Nice condition for their age. A bit grubby but not damaged. The larger reel is 4" diameter, the smaller one is 3.5" Both reels spin OK, the larger one does catch a little at one spot though. For your consideration is a vintage miniature oil can. It is in very good condition for being used. With no rust or dings. The raised/embossed lettering around the rim of the can is very clear and reads"Eagle Pat February 27 1923 Made in USA" The can stands 4 inches tall from bottom to tip of spout and is 1 and 3/4 inches wide. It also has that wonderful"oil can" sound when you press the bottom of the can.

They made things really well back then. it would make a great piece for a collector or if you like to fish with it, either way. It could use a good cleaning but it is FULLY FUNCTIONAL. Vintage Martin Mohawk Fishing Reel. I believe it is used for fly fishing, still has line on it. It does work, I've cranked it and pulled the retrieving trigger. I have a lot of Zebco cardinal 4 reels and one Mitchell reel. The two green zebco reels are a 4th and 5th edition cardinal 4. They were made between 1970 and 1977. They are in great working condition. A few chips on the green paint but hell they are 30+ years old. They just need to be restrung and hooked to a rod so you can catch that trophy large mouth. There is also an early 80's Mitchell 1120 included in the lot.
