This rod is in great condition as it has only been used once. It is a four piece rod and has a yellow soft case and aluminum hard case. It is in excellent working order. For your consideration I have found this Wright McGill Granger Special Fly Rod. Number GS 8642 Rod Metal Tube. Nice Tube with origianl labeling. And a 8.5ft and is 4.5 weight rod that may be match for tube only in seat of rod. The rod it'self has been worked on at some point. Comes with original metal tube and stocking. With the help of an ebayer who took the time to accurately describe the rod I feel confident in this description. Thank you to him! He believes the rod seat is an original Wright McGill Granger Special dated 1937 on seat and has been repaired at sometime. So the rod should be considered one that would need a restoration. Dated 12-1938 no.2114107 pat. on handle. Rod has been uses as evidence of cork handle. Postage will be $8 shipped UPS. 3 vintage fly fishing rods. All are still very solid. Overall good condition. But some show more wear then others. Wright& McGill Eagle Claw Sweetheart. No. SW300. 8'6" 6-7 line. This rod is in the best condition of the 3. There is some small paint chips up the rod. Shakespeare Wonderod No. 1444. 7'9" There is some electrical tape toward the top the the rod. I am guessing it broke. Just figured I would leave it like we received it. Kodiak Fiberglass 3300. 8 1/2' marked. But measures around 8' Must have been repaired. Hello all.heres an older Wright and McGill Eagle claw 5 1/2' Blue Diamond Graphite casting rod. Model BD101. Its in good, but not perfect shape, but still solid and usable. All the wraps/eyes are good, but the tip one has a little surface rust. The reel seat and screw down mechanism works great, but the handle is missing its little gold"eagle claw" badge. I found this beauty at a flyshop going out of business two years ago.It is a W&M Granger victory that was refinished.The original script I was told was lost and was hand written back onto the rod before refinishing.The rod is 8'6 3/2 4.2 oz this the 8642 inscription.It was retro finished using different color threads a hook keeper, snake brand chrome guides and a snake brand nickel silver with a white/orange agate stripper guide.the tip tops are original granger as is the cork grip and N/S uplocking reel seat.The sections are straight,One of the tip sections is a little short the sections measure 34 1/2 and the second tip is 31 3/4 but it still casts great with a 5 wt line.I have only fished this rod once since purchasing it.The rod comes with a heavy rod sock and a black with brass top and bottom rod tube made by landmark.The cane ... moreis a dark shade and looks great with the new finish.Low starting price.US shipping only,good luck bidding.

Classic 1970s vintage Fly rod. 4 piece 7 foot 6 inch combination Trailmaster fly fishing rod made by Wright McGill Eagle Claw in the USA. This one has the desirable mini ferrules. The rod it is balanced for 7 weight line. It comes in their readily identifiable aluminum tube and this one is in excellent condition. Also included is the rod sack. Condition is used but in excellent condition with no damage and the wraps and reel seat are good. The cork grip is undamaged. The tube has wear. But no dents and the screw on lid is good.

Item Photos, Item Photos, DETAILS Vintage Lot of 3 Freshwater FISHING RODS NEW OLD STOCK NEVER USED with TAGS St Croix. Dynaspin, Wright& McGill This may seem like way too much BANG for on auction. But no, you're not dreaming! After you pinch yourself, take a look at this set of three high quality vintage spinning fiberglass fishing rods. These are freshwater spinning rods that have NEVER HIT WATER. One of them is a St. Croix- the creme de la creme. Ladies and gentlemen. Made of"double power fiberglass" according to the tags. It still has not only the original paper tag attached with string, but it also has some plastic wrapping emblazoned with St. Croix around the handle. There are 5 eyes altogether; 1 on the bottom half, 4 on the top half. Next up we have another breathtaking beauty in the shape of the"Green Hornet" ... moreby Wright& McGill. And again, oh boy- there's a plastic wrapping with a paper label on it. It says"Wright& McGill Green Hornet No GHF" which is a model from the 1950's. Five eyes altogether, one on the bottom half and four on the top half. This thing looks excellent, it's in great condition. Last but not least, there's the Dynaspin True Temper rod. This has its original paper tag and the condition is just as gorgeous as the others- these were kept as collectibles. One eye on the bottom half and four on the top half. The logo emblem also says"725 M" The St. Croix has some slight white discoloration on the very end of the handle. The metal parts have some very. Very slight discoloration although I wouldn't say they're oxidized. The paper tag is a little discolored/wrinkled. Really that's the only complaints I can make, and those are hardly complaints considering it's amazing she has her tags. The Green Hornet is similar, the little plastic wrapper at the handle is split and there is just the slightest discolorations on the metal pieces such as the eyes. It has 4 different colored fishing flys in the center. The lighter is 8 sided. 4 smaller panels about 5/8" wide and 4 panels about 1 1/4" wide. The angles give the illusion of a more than 4 flys. It measures about 3 5/8" tall to the top of the lucite and about 2 1/4" across the top. When the lighter portion which is removable is included, it measures almost 5" tall. Inside the space for the lighter is the original gold and black foil label for WRIGHT& ... moreMCGILL FISHING TACKLE USED AROUND THE WORLD. The brand EVANS is inscribed in the lighter fluid screw. The lighter is in working order but needs to be filled. It could also use a gasket inside the fuel plug as it deteriorated when the screw was removed to check it for functioning. The lucite is in very good condition but does have a few very tiny nicks in the top rim and a little light scratching. There is a tiny black mark inside one of the angles that appears to be inside the lucite. These is all very minor and this is a neat old fishing lighter used as advertising for Wright& McGill Fishing Tackle Company. I am not an expert on vintage lighters so it is being sold as is and I think I have pointed out any flaws but be sure to enlarge the photos to see the details or email with any questions prior to bidding. This rod has the elliptical full wells or hammer handle grip and is considered the first Bill Phillipson rod taper design. Made between 1947 and 1952 and according to Michael Sinclair's book Goodwin Granger The Rod Man from Denver. The rods are not very common. Includes original cloth sack in perfect condition, and the original aluminum tube in good condition one small dent. The rod casts a Cortland 4 weight DT Sylk fly line beautifully. All sections are equal length, straight as an arrow, reel seat functions and is like new, ferrules are perfect. This Aristocrat looks as if it had the A grade bamboo as all the nodes line up and are offset every ... moreother node. If you want a 7 footer to fish this is it. All the wraps look great. The cork looks really good very slight ridging from honest use. The cork on one side of the hammer handle is slightly worn down from use. I tried to portray this in the pictures. Varnish is really nice. This is one heck of a great looking rod and it is ready to fish as is. This rod. For those that don't know is positioned as an upper mid-grade rod and used bamboo that was not quite good enough for the Registered and Deluxe but better than the Special, and way better than the Victory or Champion. The 7' length makes for a great little rod on smaller spring creeks capable of handling fish under 4 lbs. It's pretty light, impressive. You are bidding on a beautiful used original Wright McGill Granger Victory GV8642. Beautiful rod ready to fish. The rod casts a WF5 or DT6 fly line beautifully. All sections are equal length with exception to one tip that is short by 4 inches. Straight as an arrow, reel seat functions and is like new, ferrules are perfect. If you want an 8.5 footer to fish this is it. All the wraps look great. The cork looks and feels new, with some slight dirt from honest use. I tried to portray this in the pictures. Varnish is really nice. This is one heck of a great looking rod and it is ready to fish as is. The cardboard rod tube is in really nice shaped. With only a couple spots missing paper, see pictures. Classic Wright McGill Eagle Claw Trailmaster 7 1/2 ft Spin / Fly Fishing Rod USA
For sale at a buy it now fixed price is this classic 1970s vintage rod. It is the 4 piece 7 foot 6 inch combination Trailmaster fly fishing/spin fishing rod made by Wright McGill Eagle Claw in the USA. The rod is converted by reversing the handle and is shown in the spin fishing configuration. This one has the desirable mini ferrules. As a fly rod it is balanced for 7 weight line but throws either 6 weight or 8 weight lines pretty comfortably. It is rated for 10 pound mono but I have comfortably fished 12 pound line for Northerns on identical rods with no difficulty. It comes in their readily identifiable aluminum tube and this one is in exellent condition. Also included is the rod sack that you see. You are bidding on a 1950's Wright& McGill true-cast fishing rod no. TCSJ 7B and a 50's Johnson mod. 80 reel. These are both used items but in good condition. The rod is a very rare square rod. Cork handle with a little wear. On the fiber glass rod. All the eyelets are in good shape. It measures 6 foot 6 1/2 inches. Will ship in separate packages to protect both items.

I do a lot of mountain horse trail riding and saw a friend of mine pull out a portable fish rod and fish while we were eating lunch on a long all day ride and figured I got to get me one of those. Soooo, when I saw the listing for trail blazer assumed it was a portable fish rod. Well maybe it is, but not quite portable to my thinking. Anyway, I paid about $80 for it and hope to get it back. And here is what the rod says: Trail Blazer" Wright& McGill 4TWS. 6 1/2 ft. Also has I think an H-9. Auction is for a Vintage Wright& McGill Eagle Claw"Trailmaster" 4-piece Pack/Travel Casting Fishing Rod in it's Original Rod Case. This particular rod is a Model No. 4TMC D-8 4-piece 6 1/2' Casting Rod. Rod is in excellent condition and the only sign of use is minor paint loss on the reel seat as well as some scratches on the chrome butt cap. This rod not only looks great but. Would perform perfectly as well. The rod handle, reel seat, eyes, eye wraps, tip and ferrules are all in excellent condition. The 4 pieces are approx. 20" long.
