Vintage 2 piece Wright & McGill 7 ft eagle claw spin rod in very good condition
Vintage 2 piece fiberglass spin rod made by Wright& McGill in Denver Colorado. The rod is 7ft and a brass plate on the cork says Eagle Claw. On the rod near the cork area is writing that says Wright& McGill Denco 7ft No. B-970. There is cork on the bottom piece then the space you mount a reel. And another area of cork and all cork is in very good condition with no missing pieces. All the eyes are attached well and in very good condition. I can see not rust on the metal parts and the rod looks like it was not used very much. I was contacted by a fishing expert telling me that this rod is not a fly rod. It is a fiberglass spin rod so I revised my posting with the correct information. I apologize for the mistake and appreciate having this mistake brought to my attention. Wright and Mcgill 1950's 4-piece Bamboo Fly Rod W/ Metal Case *Mint Condition*
Early 1950's Wright And McGill Rod Co. Waterseal F.A H.90 4 piece Bamboo Fly Rod in Original Case This piece has been in storage since the 60's. The plastic is still on the handle. When I took it out to get pictures, it was only the third time it's seen daylight. Metal Case has some minor scratching from various moves over the years etc. It belonged to my Father-in Law. A retired Army Colonel, they relocated a lot. Other than that. It is in pristine condition. It even smelled new the first time I opened it! This a beautiful piece. Wright McGill Featherlight vintage fiberglass fly rod
Decided to list this sweet little small stream trout rod. It’s an early Wright McGill Featherlight. Model LWFF- 6 1/2' 2 piece, 4/5 wt. In good/average original condition. This is the early brown/tan model not the later cheaper version. Has one guide that’s frayed, some slight discoloration, darkening of the blank, but overall a great casting short lightweight fly rod. Would make a great backpacking and/or rod for panfish.

9' Wright McGill Granger Victory 9053 Bamboo Fly Rod 3/2 Recently Refurbished NR
This Wright McGill Granger Victory rod was recently stripped. Completely re-wrapped(in the correct orange& jasper silk thread) and five coats of varnish applied; it has only been fished twice since the refurb. The bamboo is in excellent condition with no issues. All hardware is original. The cork handle is in mint condition, as can be seen in the pictures. Comes with two tip sections, a polished chrome rod tube& rod sock(neither are original to the rod) This rod casts like a dream(as all good Grangers do) is made for a 7 or 8 weight fly line. Only two minor issues: 1) the reel seat is slightly dented where the reel foot presses against it. But this in no way affects the functionality of the reel seat, and is not visible when the reel is attached; and 2) the butt-to-mid section ferrules are a little loose. Both tip sections have issues but could be professionally scarfed(for about $50 each) The only other issue this rod has is the snake guide at the top of the mid section has broken at one end& needs to be replaced. Here is a detailed description of the condition of each section: The butt section is in superb condition with no issues. Full length(34.5 inches) Bamboo in great shape; the patented uplocking reel seat& cork grip are in excellent condition. As seen in the pictures both ink stamps are in excellent condition; all wraps in great shape& tight. The varnish is in very good condition. The butt-to mid ferrules fit snugly, as do all mid-to-tip ferrules. Mid section-Full length(34.5 inches) straight. With no issues in the bamboo. Wraps& varnish are in very good to excellent shape. see previous comments about ... morethe one snake guide. Tip section#1- The bamboo has separated from the end of the tip down to the second snake guide below the tip. Length: 32 3/4 inches. Antique 1938 WRIGHT & McGILL WRANGLER FIBERGLASS, CORK AND METAL FISHING ROD

CORK AND METAL FISHING ROD IN CASE I don't fish but I fell in love with this thing the moment I saw it. I love the simplicity of it and the workmanship. Its been in this case for 75 years. Which makes it an antique this year. I doubt it has been out more than a few times. Its condition is simply incredible. Cork handles, metal reel brace(non-magnetic) painted brass? and a fiberglass body. Beautiful. The metal at the connector does have a touch of surface oxydation. In two pieces. Together it measaures 79" That's 6' 7" I don't want to force the rod together too tightly. I don't think it was ever together, so its tight. I don't think the case is original. Made by Rod Caddy. Its a model 104. Cardboard with ... morea steel clamp. Plastic handle and edges(and that's why its not 30's. Plastic. My best guess puts the case into the 50's. In fact I can guarantee it. Mid 50's. It fits the rod perfectly. A good choice really. The clamp on it works excellently but has some rust. From a fishing website: Wright& McGill Rod Company Shortly after World War II. The Wright& McGill Co. of Denver, Colorado, acquired the Goodwin Granger Co. Wright& McGill had been in the tackle business since the 1920's, but had never produced rods. The Wright& McGill Rod Company was formed in 1946, and rehired many former Granger employees as well as many new employees to meet the post-war demand. For sale at a buy it now fixed price is this classic 1970s vintage rod. It is the 6 piece 6 foot 9 inch Trailmaster fly fishing rod made by Wright McGill Eagle Claw in the USA. This one is model TMF. It is balanced for 7 weight line but throws either 6 weight or 8 weight lines pretty comfortably. It comes in their readily identifiable aluminum tube and this one is in exellent condition. Also included is the rod sack that you see. The principal advantage of this rod is the compact size. With a tube measuring under 15 inches it fits easily in your luggage. Your saddlebag or behind the seat of your truck when you might have a chance to cast to bass or a northern. Condition is used but in excellent condition with no damage and the wraps and reel seat are good. The cork grip is undamaged. The tube has some wear but no dents and the screw on lid ... moreis good. My recommendation would be a 7-8 weight. 3 1/4" up-locking screw nickled reel seat. 6 1/2" specie cork grip with emblem. Aluminum winding check. Wright McGill style hookeeper, stainless steel stripper guide, 7 stainless steel snake guides and a stainless tip top. Wright McGill patented MINI-Ferrules. Blade is Goldenrod with matching goldenrod nylon extended winds and black nylon accent trims. Specie cork has been reconditioned. Rod has been cleaned and guide winds have received a fresh coat of glass rod varnish. Comes with single compartment clear plastic rod bag and brown fiber storage tube. Ships in a 3 sided postal tube insured.

The nickel silver reelseat has Made by Wright& McGill Rod Co. Denver. Colo. U.S.A 1938" embossed on it. Since it is a vintage collectible. I have not cleaned it in any way; it is left as I received it. The unique Granger nickel silver ferrules are the same way. Tarnished a bit but in working order. All in all. A very good rod to either be restored or fished, and of course it would be a good example of this model to add to a Granger collection. Will gladly ship to the lower 48 States. This is a very clean late 70s Vintage Wright& McGill of Denver Colorado. Eagle Claw"Denco" Model No. MB8A8-8' fly rod in excellent condition. For line size 7. Made in USA. Doesn't look like it's been used much, if at all. Comes in a felt sleeve in an Eagle Claw aluminum tube, but the label on the tube does NOT match this rod. All ferrules are straight and wraps are excellent. Cork handle is free of dirt& grime. No chips or cracks in the cork. Rod is in excellent condition.
