This is model number: TRRR269(206 cm) It says on the rod: Previous Model No. M6TMU) It also says: Line Size 7" The rod comes in six pieces. There are no gouges in the cork. All the eyes are present. The colors are strong-this is a fantastic rod! This rod came from my uncle's collection of fishing equipment. He lives in Homosassa Springs. Florida and because of declining health, he can no longer fish. My Aunt asked me to help her find new homes for all his gear. Over the past couple of months, I have done just that! This is one of the last pieces of his collection to go. Because he lives in Florida. This rod may have been exposed to salt water/air. But based on its condition, it is my guess he only used it when he went back to his home near Flint, Michigan. It is in really great shape! The aluminum tube does show wear and the chain that attaches the screw top on the tube is present but not connected to the tube. You will notice in the pictures there is a crack in the plastic where the chain attaches to the tube. Otherwise. The rod is in very good condition. For shipping. I am quoting USPS Parcel Select. Wright McGill Granger Special 8642 Bamboo Fly Rod 5 wt.
For your consideration- a Wright McGill Granger Special 8642 bamboo fly rod in very good condition. This is an 8'6" 5 wt. rod. All sections are straight and full length. All wraps are tight. Ferrules are tight and pop when they pull apart. Varnish is nice. As are the reel seat and grip. One of the tips was scarfed to get it back to the correct length. The top guide and the tip top on that tip were re-wrapped to accommodate the repair as well as the first guide on the mid section. The wraps are an excellent match to the originals. All work was professionally done by a respected rod builder. The Granger tube is missing the cap but will come with a second capped tube that the Granger tube it will fit into. This rod is completely solid is a great candidate to take out fishing. If there are any questions don't hesitate to ask.

This rod has been totally striped, includes original reel seet and handle assembly, there are only three original line guides, use them for size refrence, the bottom of the reel assembly needs to be drilled out, and new wood dowell or hollow aluminium pipe installed, originally they were wood, but the ones I have done in the past. I have used aluminium and they seem to be balanced alot better than factory. Beauty of this set up you can make your cork handle then attach, rather than reem and slide down, great project rod for the beginner, or seasoned collector, connections are excellent, rod is 100% sound, no scratches or cracks, chips ect. Phillipson and Early Wright McGill Fiberglass fly rods shipped in Cabelas Tube
Two vintage fiberglass fly rods by two of the best in the business. Plus a Cabela's case to carry them. The Wright McGill All American has the famous Pat 1938 reel seat made familiar on their bamboo rods. The Phillipson is called a Royal Lancer. Both rods are probably in the 7 weight range, and both rods are in good used condition. It looks like there has been a guide or two rewrapped on the Wright McGill. I think that the Phillipson is all original, but these are not perfect specimens for the collector, they are, however, both very fishable, and have a lot of life left in them, and would serve until the perfect specimen did show up.

Wright McGill Granger Deluxe Bamboo Fly Rod 8'6" GD8642 4.5 ounces
NO RESERVE AUCTION- with new lower starting price- liquidating the inventory for spring. You are bidding on a fantastic Wright McGill Granger DeLuxe. 8.5 ft, 4.5 oz. 3/2. 3 pieces with 2 tips, original cloth sack in almost perfect condition, and what looks to be the original brownish colored aluminum tube. The rod casts a 4 weight DT modern fly line beautifully. All sections are equal length, straight as an arrow, reel seat functions like new, ferrules have seen some wear but fit tightly and there is no clicking when casting. There are two wraps that I have shown in the picture that are darker than the other wraps. I am not sure why. All the wraps look great and representative of an original wrap, however, not being the original owner I can not state for a fact that everything is original. The cork looks great, varnish looks great. This is ... morea great looking rod and it is ready to fish as is. This rod. For those that don't know is positioned just below the Granger Registered and Granger Premier, meaning the bamboo was the finest around, more so than the Aristocrat, Favorite, Special, and way better than the Victory. The 8'6" length in my opinion is perfect for the fisherman out there, rather than the collectors. Let the collectors keep paying way to much for the shorter rods that don't have the length to high stick or mend the way a fisherman needs to catch fish. The shorter rods, may cast a little better, but I would be willing to bet these longer rods catch more fish, since you have the length to maneuver the fly. This rod will cast a dainty dry or weighted wooly bugger no problem. Don't you want to be the guy on your fishing trip this year showing off what what an OLD Granger can do? I am an honest seller.
