Excellent Taxidermy VINTAGE MOUNTED Huge 53" BARRACUDA FISH Fiberglass?
Excellent condition ~ It has a an older looking tag on the back with the name of the Captain of the boat. And the fisherman, and it says 53" Barracuda. Really gives a great look to a room when you hang it on the wall. ~ great vintage piece. I know nothing about taxidermy or mounted fish etc. Someone emailed to ask me about skin and teeth. And is this fiberglass? I don't know any of that ~all I know is that this says 53" Barracuda with a captain's name and the man's name that I assume caught it, and it looks in very nice condition. The glare on the finish makes it look as though parts have been scuffed. this is glare only, nothing more, the color is there and is fine, see other pics to verify: Hello! This blue marlin is approximately 12 feet long. And in it's current posture, from the tip of the top fin to the bottom of the tail, it's about 5 feet vertical. Friends of mine caught this years ago and paid $2400 to have this fiberglass mount of it made. They are now retiring and planning on traveling the US in an RV as well as abroad, and are clearing out their life long treasures that are too big to take with them(like this beautiful fish) Thus this fish has only been with it's original owner and catcher(he also caught it) lol: I asked if I could try and sell this for them, and they are letting me: It's got some dust ... moreon it from being in storage, but is otherwise in gorgeous condition for a several years' old fish. I would have wiped it down myself, but wasn't sure the best solution to use, so I left it at that. Please see pics. The only thing I could find worth mentioning is that a single tip of the upper fins' about 1/4 inch worth, as in literally a small hair of a tip) needs to be touched some how. Otherwise I can't find anything worth mentioning. I guesstimate it weighs about 70 pounds or less as I lifted it slightly with their help off it's back bracket, but I didn't want to remove it from the wall to have it officially weighed. For you consideration are 5 unfinished Fiberglass Fish Replica Forms. Included in the package deal will be a 21-22" Small mouth Bass/ 17" Crappie/ 13" Sunfish- Bluegill/ 13" and 12" Perch. The scale detail is actually pretty good. There is obviously much work to be done if you plan to complete them as a finished fish. They would most likely be used for practicing and training of painting technique. They are listed without the pectoral and pelvic fins. 46" Barracuda Wall Mount Fish Replica Taxidermy Fiberglass Man cave Bar Heart
Up for auction is a very nice 46" Barracuda Wall Mount great for any man cave. Bar, tropical themed room, or fan of the 80's group Heart! I believe this taxidermy wall mount is fiberglass. The Barracuda measures approximately 46" and has a girth of about 15" Mount is in great condition with little wear. There is a spot about an inch behind the eye that has a fleck of paint missing. A small piece of paint missing on one of the small lower fins and back upper fin, and a small scratch about mid portion of fish. But other than that it is in very nice condition. I found this at a Florida garage sale a while back and it has been hanging in my son's room. We have a smoke free home. Please see all photographs for more details.
