Carved from a single piece of driftwood(a double knot) The painting is done with acrylics and I chose a high gloss finish on the fish to give it a"wet" look. Signed and dated: N. Tuttle 2/9/13 ~ This is an ORIGINAL and One-Of-A-Kind carving made from driftwood naturally smoothed by the sand and sea of the Pacific Northwest coast. I collect drift wood during and after the winter storms and later carve this wood using rotary grinding tools and small knives. It also has writing on the back that I can't decipher.see photos) These were marketed by Horchow's Catalog in the late 90's and they provided a Certificate of Antiquity issued by HONG KONG ART CRAFT MERCHANTS ASSOCIATION. The larger of the two is approximately 11" x 2" and the smaller one is approximately 8" x 1 1/2" Excellent condition except for a few very light and tiny surface scratches on small one and alittle deeper scratch about 3/4" long by eye on the larger one. This is a set of 5 smoooooth wooden animals made in Africa. Carved beautifully. These are simply stunning. The tallest animal stands 7 inches tall. And the smallest is 2 1/2 inches tall. All 5 animals are smooth, wonderful wood. They are very old and have been handled a lot, so the condition isn't perfect. As you can see in the photos, some of the antlers and horns have been chipped or broken off. Still, the set is lovely. Let me know if you have any questions. Both pieces have been viewed by a professor of Antiquities who confirmed they are 15th century Budhist temple carvings made of teak wood. Antique Victorian Eastlake Rocker Loveseat Settee Great Wood Carvings Upholstery Need a couple of nice Victorian pieces for those finishing touches in a room. Do not miss these pieces. Recently picked them up at an auction. The wood on these pieces is just beautiful. Probably made in the 1880s to 1890s. I think the wood type is mahogany. But may be walnut, you be the judge. The carvings and scrollings are all still intact and were nicely done. The rocker was certainly used more than the settee and shows wear on the arms to the finish. On the left side of the settee the frame has a split in it that was corrected sometime quite a while ago. There is a bolt thru the repair that was not a part of the original piece. See the pic. I picked this piece up in the condition it is in, so cannot speak to when it was reupholstered, but it was done well ... moreand with a material that is very attractive and heavy, no flimsy stuff here. The pieces are all still tightly together at the joints. The rocker still has both its' springs. The roller wheels are both on the settee's front legs. The rocker is 39.25" tall. By 24.5" across, by 24.5" wide. The loves eat/settee is 40.25" tall. By 48" across, by 23" wide. Sorry. The other items you can see in the pics are not for sale. This is a magnificent early chinese altar table with intricate scrollwork on lower front with beautiful figural carvings on either winged side. Below the two top drawers. Are carved panels of mythical beasts. Typical of the period are simple brass pulls. doors are on wooden pegs. Also typical of early cabinetry. History with the piece indicates it is from the river region between Beijing and Shanghai where the more cultured and educated lived. The scrollwork history indicated that these could be removed if desired for additional space under the cabinet for shoes I don;t know if this scrollwork is removeable or not Measurements are approx 42 inches wide by approx 16 inches tall and approx 10 inches in depth. Olson(or“Ole the Hermit” as he was otherwise known) was born in Norway in 1882. His family emigrated to the United States a year later, settling on a farm near Litchville, North Dakota. He retired from that in 1942 and moved to Valley City, where he spent the rest of his life. It was there that his artistic legacy was born. He had been a lifelong whittler and woodcarver, and being a recently widowed retiree gave Ole the time to produce innumerable woodcarvings. Often using the“grizzled ... moreold pioneer” as a subject, his carved figures were of stooped-over chin-whiskered men and shawled women. He displayed his pieces in the front room of his house. This Boho style necklace features wood beads in various shades of browns and various sizes and shapes. The center front features one very large. Chunky, diagonal cut, layered wood bead. It measure 1 1/4" across and is flanked on either side by smaller wood beads. One tan wood elephant and one tan Rhino finish the piece. The animals are about 2" wide. An Estate lot of 5 Chinese Vintage or Antique items. Included are two boxwood? carvings of Kwan Yin. Guanyin dating to late 19th- early 20th C possibly earlier? Very nice and in wonderful condition. Unmarked. One is 8.25" tall, other is 5.75" tall. a Silk Embroidered panel in frame, sealed under glass, measuring 26.5" tall X 13.5" W. Excellent condition. A green glass vase(Age unknown but looks 20th c. unmarked looks like Peking style and has white glass with green over top. Measures 6.5" tall. Also a small handmade and painted porcelain dish with a mark on bottom. Possibly Japanese? Measures 3 5/8" diameter. Beautiful little group. Maybe a treasure here!

4 African style wood carvings
I have 4 of these. The largest is 12" tall. The next is 10" tall, the next is 7" and the wall hanging is 10 1/2" The 7" one is the one with the crack on his head. They have no markings on them as to where they were made or who made them. They are made of wood and have been hand carved and sanded. They look like they used stain or some sort of dye on them.
