Vintage 1970 Real Skin LAKE TROUT Wall Mount 41" long Taxidermy/Museum Quality
Vintage 1970 Lake Trout Mount by Taxidermist Ken Hawkins You are bidding a 1970 Lake Trout Mount. This mount is in great condition for it's age. And has museum quality. This is a type of mount that you might find in a Bass Pro Shop or Sporting Goods store. The mount measures 41 inches long and 16 inches in height. You won't find many fish over 40 years old in this good of condition. Please look below for a detailed description of the mount. The mount has a taxidermy label on the back. Ken Hawkins taxidermy mounted the Lake Trout in 1970. Hawkins was a well known taxidermist that did work for 60 plus years. Hawkins and his dad, Jack, did several mounts for the Manitoba Museum, their first mount was done in 1943. The date on the label was hand written: 7-10-70, and the mount originally was for"Grandpa Hefner. This is truly a piece ... moreof history and would look great on anybody's wall! The label also has the address of their Taxidermy Shop, 1793 Main Street Winnipeg 17. Manitoba. This was"Canada's Largest Taxidermist Shop" and became known as"The Shop with the Bear on Top" This is an Awesome piece of Vintage/Antique fishing decor! The condition of the fish: The top of the tail fin has a little bend to it. The top of back two fins are in great condition. The two wall side fins look like they were broken away from the skin but have been glued back into place. All the fins show some wear but nothing really noticeable. The REAL skin of the fish is in really nice condition. The back side of the mount has a small crack. Please look at all the pictures before bidding. Northern Pike Skin Mount Fish Taxidermy Replica 30"
Here is a nice skin mount replica of a Northern Pike. This mount is about 5 years old and in very nice condition. The fish was/is about 30" long. BUT, with the bend in the fish mount, its about 28" long. The fins were finished with bends/curves in them for a more realistic appearance. Note) As seen in the photo; the lower tail tip is discolored/clear. It may have been repaired at one time? I think some paint or touch up would be an easy fix. There is a nice wire hangar on the back. So its ready to mount. Its a little dusty and due for a light cleaning. This is a nice mount overall, and would look great on the wall. Have a look at the pics, they show its condition and coloration/markings pretty good.

Beautiful Northern Pike that was caught and mounted in about 1983. The fellow that mounted this was 84 years old and did a beautiful job on this 34 inch pike. He is down-sizing and needed to part with it. This was the center piece in his Man Cave. I have not touched it. So you will get it with the dust on it. He used a beautiful mounting board behind it and the width of this pike is about 5 inches. The owner caught this out of Lake Okoboji in Iowa. I do not see any damage to any of the fins and the color is amazing. I will have this professionally packed and shipped for $40.00.

For your consideration a Beautifully Executed Trophy Walleye Pike Mount on Driftwood and Cross-Cut Cedar. The fine quality of this REAL SKIN work makes the fish look incredibly lifelike and fresh. Appears wet to the touch. Careful attention was paid to the fins. Mouth, and lateral line. Here's what I know about this guy. The plaque reads: June 1975 Lac La Ronge Canada. Sask. Good Time Fishing Ok. Fishermen! What is it? Salmon, Trout, Pike? I'm having trouble identifying this but have been told it may be salmon. Real skin mount. From end of tail to tip of mouth, it's approximately 33" long. Measuring HALF of the body, he has a girth of 16" plump little guy! This comes with the lure you see hanging from his mouth BUT it is easily removable in case you wanted to place your own lure there. I'm sue a taxidermist could remove this from the large mounting board and re-mount this to a more modern look, if you like. There is thin cracking on the bottom(see photo) doesn't seem to be a major issue. Mounted on a wood(pine? board that measures 36" across. Hanging hardware attached. Vintage Largemouth bass mount taxidermy real skin 22.5" long on wood plaque
Vintage large mouth bass taxidermy mount. It is about 22.5" in length. I think it was made in the 1970s or earlier. I bought it at an estate sale. I am farily certain it is real skin. It measures about 12" from the dorsal fin to the bottom of its body. It was a large fish. The mouth is about 4.5" open height. I tried to clean it with some compressed air and some used dryer sheets to get the significant amount of dust off. I was not overly successful. It has flared gills. The biggest flaws are the fins that are bent in some spots and possibly have pieces missing. The worst are the right pectoral fin and the bottom tail fin. There is only an eye on one side. I am sure it was supposed to be like that. The back has some filler where it was put together. Again I think it was made that way because that side wasn't supposed to ... morebe seen. I will try to pack as carefully as possible to keep from damaging the fins any further. The wood that it was mounted on is not of high quality and there are only a few screws holding it on. This is a beautifully kept 47" Chinook Salmon 44 1/2 pounds when landed with approx 25 3/4" girth displayed on wooden plaque approx 15 1/4" x 15 1/4" for hanging. Fish in overall great condition as you can see hanging on the wall. Except for fins splitting at the ends and chipping in those areas. I believe it's called carding the backside of the fins, is where the fins are separatating from the cardboard. Plaque stamped on back mounted out of Greenwood Taxidermy in Moosic, Pa. I'm sure someone can repair this fine fish. We build a special crate for each fish sold to arrive safely. I don't know if the fish was actually caught in WI. But I would venture to guess so. It is a fixer upper. The biggest flaw is the tail fin has a tear. It appears someone attempted to repair the tear. And had no luck. The other fins have some damage also, I took close pictures of each fin to show any damage. Also there is one spot on his back where a scale flaked off leaving a bare spot. Here is one huge walleye mount. The tag says it was 31 and 1/2 inches. I laid a tape in the V of the tail and measured 30 inches to the bottom lip. So this was well over that live. This was very well done and still looks great after 25 years. The tag did not say where this came from. I am pretty sure it was from Lake Erie. They just don't come any nicer than this. It is kind of hard to measure length on this one because he is curling away from you at the head and tail. It is all of 23 inches long and has a girth of 14 inches behind the gills and ahead of the front fins. The taxidermy is superb in my opinion. The gills are flared and the mouth is wide open. There are no broken fins or blemishes. This one is ready to hang. It is a real fish and not a replica. It was my 30th Birthday May 14th 1996 and we'd had a great day on the water. In fact one of the best days we'd ever had. The sun was setting and we were all taking the gear off the boat and loading the cars. There was going to be at least an hour of filleting in front of us before an unprecedented feast. If you're a fisherman you know the"one last cast" routine. Walking back to the cars along the docks I flicked out my worn but trusty Rapala and let out the line so that when I walked it back to shore I could reel it all the way back in. Reaching shore I turned and started to reel pulling in all the loose line I'd let out when I noticed that the line I was reeling in was going out faster than I was reeling and BANG! I set the hook and the battle started. I quickly walked back up the docks to improve my position. My ... morebrothers. Uncles and cousins all noticed at the same time and I could see them out of the corner of my eye half interested and half jealous. The fish ran and pulled out line like a Pike and my reel screamed and rod bent. Get me a net" I yelled over my shoulder and they all scrambled. I only had 4lb line on this 6'6" medium action Abu Garcia so I had to let him run and follow him by running along the docks. After about 10 min everybody became convinced that I must have hooked a turtle because I was gaining line so slowly but I was bringing in line now, slow, but steady. Fatigue got the better of him then, I thought, and we were only in about 22' 25' of water here at the end of the docks. He was coming up but he was swimming up under the dock. I pushed my rod tip out to turn his head and get him away from the dock and when he broke the surface from the very edge of the dock he must have left the water by 2 feet. Splashing back into the lake he swam away from the net my Uncle Jesse had thrust into the water and started taking line again. Now that we'd all seen him we all became collectively paranoid that he was going to throw the hook or snap the line. I

Up for bid is a Taxidermy Largemouth Bass. This is a Skin Mount fish and was caught in a Lake in Sumter. SC. This is a whopper of a fish measuring over 22 inches long and about a 17 inch girth. This bass was caught in 1993 as shown in photo 4. Which also has the person's name that caught it. This plaque can be removed by removing 2 tiny screws. This is an estate sale find and is being sold AS IS. I AM NOT a Taxidermist and know nothing about taxidermy. Please look at photo 9, it shows the back of the fish that is mounted, does not have the eye.I guess it was cheaper for it to be taxidermied this way. Largemouth Bass Vintage Taxidermy Fish Skin Mount Cabin Decor Fishing Trophy
This is a nice looking vintage largemouth bass taxidermy mount. It measures about 20" in length. And the real skin was used in the mount. There is a small crack on the top of the head area(pictured) which appears to have been repaired at some point and is barely noticeable. There is also a mark on the side of the gill area(pictured) I'm not sure if that was on the live fish or not, it's minor but still worth mentioning. The colors are vibrant in the fish, the grass is very realistic, the fishing tangled line, and Mepps#2 spinner hooked in mouth are an accurate replica of just how a trout will hang your line up in underwater trees and limbs until your line breaks as you continue your non-stop drift down the river. Here`s a largemouth bass my ex caught in a private lake back around 2004 or so. I think it weighed 9lbs. give or take a few ounces. He had several from 8-10 lbs. This is one of a few I have left. It was done by Wildlife Creations in Fulton Mo. and cost me over $ 300.00 at the time. It measures about 21-1/2in. long with a steel tape and has about 17-3/4 inches of girth. Paraguay- Parana, and in the Sao Fransisco River system. Piranhas are normally about 6 to 10 inches. All piranhas have a single row of sharp teeth in both jaws. T hey are tightly packed and interlocking via small cusps. These t riangular. Pointed and blade like chompers are used for rapid puncture and shearing. CONDITION: This taxidermy was in GOOD Pre-Owned Used condition until bugs got to it. And left tiny holes on the body/head. Also. When I was done taking picures. I t fell out of my hands. As I caught it. The bottom jaw hit my camera ... moreand broke a tooth. See Last Photo. Y ou may also notice what looks to be blood on the jaw. It is not- This is something my son did. Here is an awesome antique Largemouth Bass skin mount for sale. This huge fish measures 25 inches long and has a girth of 19 inches. This fish was caught at Lake Lochloosa in Florida on November 16th 1949. This fish is 65 years old. She is in great condition for being this old. The taxidermy and paint is awesome for a fish this old. The fish is not in perfect condition as there are a few imperfections with a couple fins. See photos. It comes mounted a nice wood plaque with a hand made nameplate which states the date and location caught. If you are looking for a big fish with a lot of history then this is the one.
