Today. I have for auction, a mounted, taxidermied 18" vintage small mouth bass. It is in nice condition except for a few flaws. The bottom fin has a crease line, and I am not sure if there is a missing tip. There is another crease on the bottom back fin, and one of the fins facing the back on the bottom has a bend and a broken off tip. All flaws are pictured. This is an old large mouth bass. The lady that owned said her husband caught it. She didn't say where or how much it weighed at the time. Only that she didn't want it anymore because it didn't match her decor. It measures 20" It is not mounted on anything. It looks like they hung it from the hole on the back of the fish. There is a hole on the back of the fish) The tail has a small crack. You can see it in the picture. It looks like an easy fix or you could leave it there. 19" Large Mouth Bass Taxidermy Stuffed Fish Real Skin Mount Illinois
It was my 30th Birthday May 14th 1996 and we'd had a great day on the water. In fact one of the best days we'd ever had. The sun was setting and we were all taking the gear off the boat and loading the cars. There was going to be at least an hour of filleting in front of us before an unprecedented feast. If you're a fisherman you know the"one last cast" routine. Walking back to the cars along the docks I flicked out my worn but trusty Rapala and let out the line so that when I walked it back to shore I could reel it all the way back in. Reaching shore I turned and started to reel pulling in all the loose line I'd let out when I noticed that the line I was reeling in was going out faster than I was reeling and BANG! I set the hook and the battle started. I quickly walked back up the docks to improve my position. My ... morebrothers. Uncles and cousins all noticed at the same time and I could see them out of the corner of my eye half interested and half jealous. The fish ran and pulled out line like a Pike and my reel screamed and rod bent. Get me a net" I yelled over my shoulder and they all scrambled. I only had 4lb line on this 6'6" medium action Abu Garcia so I had to let him run and follow him by running along the docks. After about 10 min everybody became convinced that I must have hooked a turtle because I was gaining line so slowly but I was bringing in line now, slow, but steady. Fatigue got the better of him then, I thought, and we were only in about 22' 25' of water here at the end of the docks. He was coming up but he was swimming up under the dock. I pushed my rod tip out to turn his head and get him away from the dock and when he broke the surface from the very edge of the dock he must have left the water by 2 feet. Splashing back into the lake he swam away from the net my Uncle Jesse had thrust into the water and started taking line again. Now that we'd all seen him we all became collectively paranoid that he was going to throw the hook or snap the line. I

Up for auction is this amazing large mouth bass taxidermy mount in excellent shape. Fish measures 22 1/2" long from the tip of the tail to the tip of lower mouth. Circumference of body. Just behind the gills, measures 16 1/2" Circumference of mouth is approximately 11" The fish is missing an eye. This area was filled in by the taxidermist, and is not noticeable(this side faces the wall. Fish is mounted on a wood plaque, with brass taxidermist ID. Huge Large Mouth Bass Fish Driftwood Skin Mount Taxidermy Lake George NY
For your consideration is this Fantastic Large Mouth Bass Taxidermy Mount. He was caught in Lake George. NY. The fisherman who caught it is moving across country, and his wife said NO to taking his trophy fish with them. He had all of them professionally mounted within the last 5 years, so it's fairly new. This big fish measures 18" and his body is curved. So he probably measured 19-20" before mounting. He has eyes on both sides of the head. He's on a really nice 19" driftwood mount with pieces that extrude out from the main log. There is a metal hanger in place on the back of the wood. I did notice his pectoral fin is bent. And a slight bend in one corner of his tail. This can probably be straightened with something, but I don't know what to use. I just dusted him off a bit and did not use anything to give him ... moreany extra shine. This fish will look great in a den. Camp, office, actually any room of the house.
