Huge Vintage Piranha Taxidermy Mounted Fish Amazon Red Belly Venezuela
I hate to part with this stuffed Amazon Piranha I bought in Venezuela 25 years ago on one of my trips to the Amazon. It is the largest speciman I have ever seen at 12" long and 7" tall. It has an orange coloring on the bottom and sides around the face and eyes. One tooth is missing and some of the dorsel fin is missing but it is still an incredible fish. I ship worldwide for free. Vintage PIRANHA FISH TAXIDERMY paper weight Collectible
You are bidding on a taxidermy Piranha paper weight with the Brazilian flag marker. It is about 4&1/2 inches in diameter and about 1 inch in height. There is a crack noted on the 4th picture not easily seen unless pointed out. Piranha are found in the Amazon basin. Orinoco, remote rivers of the Guyanas. Paraguay- Parana, and in the Sao Fransisco River system. All piranhas have a single row of sharp teeth in both jaws. T hey are tightly packed and interlocking via small cusps. These t riangular. It measures about 8 1/2" x 6 1/2" It is used and has a few vintage holes in it. Possibly from bugs eating at it over time or the kids poking at it? Otherwise is in good condition for it's age. Piranha fish are NOT an endangered species.
