This is a Meek No. 25 Blue Grass fishing reel. The side plate is marked B F Meek anb Sons Louisville KY No. 25 Blue Grass. The plate opposite the handle is maked Screw Off Carter Pat Jul 5, 04 Nov 28, 05. The foot is marked with the number 1. Mechanically the handle turns freely but the Cosmetically the reel is dirty, as it has been in an old tackle box for many years and needs a good cleaning but I will leave that to the new owner. ANTIQUE HAND CARVED FROG SPEARING DECOY ICE FISHING LURE
Very old hand made frog spearing decoy. Was made in early 1900's by a man from the Spirit Lake. Iowa area. I purchased it from the the grand daughter of this man. She said that it was used to attract those large northern pike within spearing distance. Approximately 6" long. Weighs 5 ounces. Main body is wood and front legs are tin. Eyes are metal and there is a barbed hook mounted on each leg. These are attached with nails and fine copper wire. The copper wire is missing on one leg, so the attached hook is a bit loose. There is a eye hook on top for attaching line and bottom belly is lead weighted. There is some rusting on tin legs and barbed hooks. Also, some age wear to paint. Has been sitting on a shelf for some time and it is now time for a new owner. Email with any questions and thank you for looking.

OHIO VARNISHED& BANDED. HEXAGONAL Offered here is an antique bamboo rod that is part of a hunting and fishing collection of my wife's grandfather and great grandfather. I am not an expert on fishing rods so bear with my terminology. I have read other ebay offerings. But bear in mind I cannot answer your questions about how the rods handle, as I do not fish. These rods, about 6 in all, came in a handstitched canvas case that had been rolled up into a carrying tube. They were found in the loft of her father's boathouse ... morewhere they have been since 1962. No reels, tackle, or bait boxes were found with these items. This is the first one we're selling. The snowshoes are in a different listing in my Auctiva store. Her grandfather died in 1942 and these items were stored in her dad's barn until her mother's death in 2011. Her dad didn't touch them from 1942 except to move them from place to place as they moved. We'll have more of these. Some with 3 or 4 sections and mfg names, to list. Also, old hunting bows. Another world of expertise we're not up on yet. Dimensions: Length 57" Cork end to female ferrule 22" tiptop end to male ferrule 35.75" Contains 3 guides. All appear to be in great shape. SCARCE 2 1/4" Vintage / Antique Brass 'ENRIGHT & SON' Platewind Fishing Reel.
This is another very old Vintage/ Antique brass 2 1/4" ENRIGHT& SONS' platewind fishing reel. It is clearly stamped on the front plate with the maker's name; ENRIGHT& SON- CASTLE CONNELL' This particular reel dates back to around pre 1880(could be earlier) After this date they stamped their name within an oval logo. Enright& Son' can be found in Phil Waller's book; Fishing Reels' Collecting for all' Vol. 1 pages 39. The reel turns very smoothly with no rubbing. The back plate has the oil hole for servicing the reel. There is a very slight ding to the edge of the back plate which can hardly be seen. The foot is in excellent condition and has the cut away design of that early era. The is no corrosion or pitting to the reel. The handle/knob is in excellent condition with no splits or cracks. This is a very old Vintage/ Antique brass'T.Pape' platewind fishing reel. This is a very scarce 2" reel. It is clearly stamped on the front plate with the maker's name in their Shield Logo; T.Pape- Maker- Newcastle' Pape' originally founded his business in Newcastle(UK) in 1830. This particular reel dates back to around 1890. The can be found in Phil Waller's book; Fishing Reels' Collecting for all' Vol. 2 pages 43& 50. It was later around 1900 when'Pape' started to trade under the name; Pape& Sons' So this reel ca acurately be dated to around 1890. there is some light scuffing as can be expected from a brass reel around 123 years old. Here we have a beautiful Antique/ Vintage Raised Pillar fishing reel; THE INDIAN' by'Montague' in the U.S.A. Made to commemorate'The Indian Motor Cycle' It was made around the early 1900's and is stamped on the foot with'60' Which means it has a line capacity of 60 yards. The reel is clearly stamped with'INDIAN' on the face. It has sliding buttons for both the check mechanism and drag system which both work correctly. The reel is in excellent condition with no dents or scratches. Only minor scuffing. The handle knob is plastic or bone? with no cracks or chips. It measures 1 1/2" in diameter and 1 3/4" in width. Montague made a large number of reels stamped with various model names. This one is thought to have been made to commemorate the great Indian Motor Cycle. This is a very SCARCE Vintage/ Antique'SLATER' BRASS& EBONITE' Star Back reel. It is un marked. But has the'Slater' Sliding Release Latch and typical'Slater' spring& pawl inside. The back plate has a nickel silver rim which confirms this is a quality reel of its time. The centre drum is made of brass. Overall the reel is in excellent condition except the alloy back spool has some pitting. The ebonite is excellent with no scratches or cracks. And the brass Star Back and check knob are also in magic condition. There is no rubbing when turning the knob and spins many revolutions by itself. It has a check mechanisim and when engaged gives a loud'clicking' sound. The inside check caliper and pawl are also in excellent conditio n. This particular reel dates back to the late 1800's. The owner being in his late 70's said his father made it and fished Keweenaw Bay off of Lake Superior for trout. It could have been used in the open water jigging straight down for fish. The spool spins freely and it could be used if desired. The eyelets are made out of red brass or copper. It measures 21 1/2" long.
