You are bidding on a decorative fish decoy carved and painted by me. Sheila Cates. My inspiration for this decoy was the Gaff Top Sail Catfish. I want to send out a thank you to my good friend. Debra for introducing me to this beautiful ocean catfish. She says she use to fish for them when she lived in Florida. This catfish species has varying coloration depending on where he lives. I chose to do him in the brown and silver hues. I think he turned out beautifully and I hope you think so too! Wee Topsail" was carved from basswood and his belly has been lead weighted. Heart Shaped Mini Plate, KENTUCKY DAM & LAKE, with sail boat, cardinal, man/fish
Heart shaped plate with lattice(hearts and triangles) edging that has gold speckled paint. Very colorful. Detailed plate with a sailboat full of people, man on a dock holding up fish that he caught, cardinal on a banner that says"KENTUCKY DAM& LAKE" and has a twig with leaves and pink flowers, a big fish jumping out of the water to catch a lure, a dam, a speed boat with people including a gal in a bikini. NO CRACKS. There is a chip on the front edge, not too noticeable. It is half gold, so I don't know if the gold is deep into the porcelain or if painted over. It is approx. 5" wide and 5" tall.
